The extension only uses local browser storage (chrome.storage) to store:
- Connection status (connected / disconnected)

- proxy — to enable and disable proxy connection in the browser
- storage — to save user preferences locally
These permissions are used solely for the core functionality of the extension.

The extension does not send any data to external servers.
6. User Control
Users have full control over the extension:
- You can enable or disable the proxy at any time
- You can remove the extension at any time
- No background activity occurs without user interaction

Storm VPN does not execute remote code and does not load external scripts.
All functionality is contained within the extension package.
