Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 24, 2026

Welcome to TV Remote – Universal Control ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use our iOS application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

Our primary goal is to provide a fast and seamless TV remote experience. We do not require you to create an account, nor do we directly collect personally identifiable information (such as your name, address, or phone number) to use the App.

However, to support, maintain, and monetize the App, certain non-personal information may be collected automatically by integrated third-party services. This may include:

  • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
  • Usage Data: Diagnostic data, crash reports, and generic performance metrics to help us fix bugs and improve stability.

2. Required Permissions

To function correctly, the App requests specific iOS device permissions. You can manage these at any time in your device settings.

  • Local Network Access: The App requires access to your local Wi-Fi network to automatically discover, connect to, and communicate with your smart TV. We do not use this permission to monitor your web traffic or access personal files on other network devices.
  • App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS 14 and above, we request permission to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. This is used exclusively to deliver personalized, relevant advertisements.

3. Third-Party Services (Advertising)

We use third-party advertising networks to offer the App for free. These providers may collect and use data (such as IP addresses and advertising IDs) to serve ads.

  • Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display banner, interstitial, and app open advertisements. AdMob uses tracking technologies to serve personalized ads based on your interests (if you have granted permission) or non-personalized ads.Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

4. User Rights and Choices

You have complete control over your privacy settings:

  • Advertising Consent (EEA/UK Users): We use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to gather and manage your consent preferences in compliance with GDPR regulations. You can change your ad consent choices at any time within the App's settings.
  • iOS Tracking (ATT): You can grant or revoke tracking permissions at any time by going to your iOS device Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

5. Data Security

We prioritize your security. While the App does not store your personal data on our servers, any diagnostic or advertising data processed by our third-party partners is protected using industry-standard security protocols. Please be aware that no electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take steps to remove such data.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our app, legal requirements, or advertising practices. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
