This Privacy Policy describes how Tag Inspector ("we", "our", or "the extension") handles information when you use our Chrome browser extension.

1. DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT
Tag Inspector does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:
• We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information.
• We do not track your browsing history.
• We do not record which websites you visit.
• We do not send any data to external servers (except for AI features — see Section 3).
• We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party monitoring tools.

2. DATA STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE
Tag Inspector stores the following data exclusively on your device using Chrome's built-in storage (chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.sync):
• Your license key (to verify your PRO or PRO+ subscription status).
• Your daily copy count (to enforce the free-tier limit of 5 copies per day).
• Your copy history (last 100 tag sets you copied — PRO feature, stored locally only).
• Trending tag data (aggregated from listings you browse — stored locally, never transmitted).
This data never leaves your device and is never shared with us or any third party.

3. AI FEATURES (PRO+ ONLY)
PRO+ subscribers can use AI-powered tag suggestions and seasonal trend analysis. When you click "Generate AI Tags" or "Analyse":
• The product title and existing tags from the current page are sent to our Cloudflare Worker proxy.
• The proxy forwards this data to Anthropic's API (Claude AI) to generate tag suggestions.
• No personally identifiable information is included in these requests.
• We do not store the content of AI requests or responses.

4. LICENSE KEY VALIDATION
When you activate a PRO or PRO+ license key, the key is stored locally on your device. License key validation is performed by pattern matching only — no server-side verification is performed and no data is transmitted.

5. PERMISSIONS WE REQUEST
Tag Inspector requests the following Chrome permissions:
• activeTab — to read product tags from the page you are currently viewing.
• storage — to save your license key and copy history locally.
• scripting — to inject the tag extraction panel into product pages.
• clipboardWrite — to copy tags to your clipboard when you click "Copy All".
• alarms — to reset the daily copy counter at midnight.
We request only the minimum permissions necessary to provide the extension's functionality.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Tag Inspector is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
