Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Smart Screen Cast TV (the “App”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

If you have questions, contact us at vanghedegaard@icloud.com.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:

A. Information you provide

Support requests you send to us (such as email address, message content, and any attachments you choose to share).

B. App and device information (non-identifying where possible)

  • App version, device model, operating system version, language/region settings.
  • Basic diagnostic information (e.g., crash logs and performance data) to help maintain stability and improve the App.

C. Usage information

  • General interaction and feature usage (for example, which screens/features are used and for how long), typically aggregated or pseudonymized.

D. Purchase information

  • Information about subscriptions and in-app purchases (e.g., product type, purchase status). Payments are processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment details.

2. How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and operate the App’s features (casting/streaming functionality).
  • Improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • Debug issues, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • Manage subscriptions and entitlement status (e.g., whether premium features are active).

If you request a refund for an in-app purchase, we may share limited, anonymized usage and transaction-related information with Apple only to support the review, processing, and validation of that refund request.

This may include, for example:

  • How long it has been since the App was installed,
  • Total time spent using the App,
  • A non-identifying (anonymous) account/device reference,
  • Whether the purchased feature was used and to what extent (including trial-related context, if applicable),
  • Purchase and refund amounts associated with the transaction.

We do not share information that directly identifies you (such as your name, personal email address, or other direct identifiers) for this purpose.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information in these cases:

  • With service providers that help us operate the App (e.g., analytics, crash reporting). They are permitted to process data only on our instructions and for the purposes described in this policy.
  • With Apple for purchase-related operations, including subscription management and the refund-related sharing described above.
  • For legal and safety reasons if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the App, or others.
  • In a business transfer (e.g., merger, acquisition). If this happens, we will take steps to ensure your data remains protected.

5. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for:

  • Providing the App and its features,
  • Support, troubleshooting, security, and fraud prevention,
  • Legal, accounting, or compliance obligations.

When no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Request access to or deletion of certain information,
  • Object to or restrict certain processing,
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.

You can also:

  • Uninstall the App to stop further collection from the device.
  • Manage subscriptions and purchases in your Apple ID settings.

To make a request, email us at vanghedegaard@icloud.com.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age where parental consent is required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

The App may interact with third-party devices and services (e.g., TVs, streaming devices, or media sources). Your use of those third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we may provide notice within the App or by other reasonable means. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
