Privacy Policy — Waifu Tracker for Steam

This extension processes data only on your device and via the official Steam Web API.

1. DATA WE PROCESS

• Steam Web API key — provided by you, stored locally in the extension's chrome.storage.local, never synced via Chrome sync, never sent to any server except api.steampowered.com over HTTPS.

• Public Steam profile data — names, avatars, online statuses, current games, friend-since timestamps of you and your friends, fetched from the official Steam Web API using your key.

• Locally generated event history — records of friend additions/removals detected by the extension, activity timeline snapshots, awake-pulse measurements.

2. DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT

• Browsing history or page content

• Credentials for any service other than your own Steam Web API key

• Payment or financial data

• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or analytics tokens

3. DATA STORAGE

• All tracking data is stored in local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device.

• Non-secret preferences (language, quiet hours, interval) may optionally sync via your Chrome profile. The API key is explicitly stripped before sync.

• No data is uploaded to any third-party server owned by us.

4. DATA SHARING AND TRANSFERS

• The only external service contacted is api.steampowered.com (the official Steam Web API).

• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third party.

5. HOW TO REMOVE YOUR DATA

• Click "Disconnect" inside the extension settings to clear local history and credentials.

• Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data automatically.
