Privacy Policy — Twitch Unlock Quality
Last updated: 25 April 2026
1. What data we collect
The "Twitch Unlock Quality" browser extension does not collect, store,
transmit, or share any personally identifiable information or user data.
2. Local storage
The extension uses chrome.storage.local to save the following data
strictly on the user's device:
- "enabled": a boolean value indicating whether the extension is switched on or off (controlled by the toggle in the popup);
- "loggedIn": a boolean value indicating whether a Twitch session cookie is present (the cookie value itself is never read or stored).
This data never leaves the user's browser.
3. Permissions
- "storage": used solely to persist the on/off toggle state between
browser sessions.
- Host permission for https://*.twitch.tv/*: used solely to inject the content script that automatically selects the highest available video quality in the Twitch player.
4. No remote servers
The extension does not communicate with any external servers, does not use analytics, does not use telemetry, and does not load any code from remote sources. All extension code is bundled in the published package.
5. Third parties
The extension does not share, sell, or transfer any data to third parties, because no data is collected.
6. Children's privacy
The extension does not knowingly collect data from any users, including children under 13.
7. Changes
