Privacy Policy – SportVPN Hub Chrome ExtensionLast updated: May 31, 2026
1. Introduction
SportVPN Hub ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that provides a curated list of free and publicly accessible live sports and TV streaming channels from Europe and the USA. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and what rights the user has.
2. Data Collected
The Extension collects and stores the following data exclusively on the user's local device, using the Chrome storage.local API:
- The custom sort order of channels as arranged by the user via drag & drop
- The list of channels marked as favorites by the user
- Any custom channels manually added by the user (name, country/category, and URL)
No personal data is collected. No names, email addresses, IP addresses, browsing history, or any other personally identifiable information (PII) is collected, transmitted, or stored.
3. Data Storage
All data described in Section 2 is stored locally on the user's device via chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves the device and is never sent to any external server, database, or third party.
4. Network Requests
The Extension performs read-only HTTP requests exclusively to:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SportVPNHub/sport-data/
This endpoint is used solely to fetch a public JSON configuration file from the extension's own GitHub repository, containing the updated list of channels. No user data is included in these requests. No cookies or authentication tokens are sent.
5. Third-Party Services
The Extension displays links to third-party streaming platforms (such as RaiPlay, BBC iPlayer, RTVE, and others). Once the user clicks on a link and navigates to an external website, that website's own privacy policy and terms of service apply. The Extension has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content or data practices of those external sites.
The Extension also displays a voluntary donation link to Ko-fi (https://ko-fi.com). Visiting that link is entirely optional and subject to Ko-fi's own privacy policy.
6. Permissions Used
The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:
- storage – to save user preferences locally on the device (favorites, channel order, custom channels)
- host_permissions for
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SportVPNHub/sport-data/*– to fetch the public channel configuration file from the extension's own GitHub repository
7. Children's Privacy
The Extension does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. The content provided consists exclusively of links to publicly available live TV and sports streams.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
