Last updated: 2026-06-20
Postpilot is a browser extension that helps you plan and schedule your own social media posts, with optional AI-assisted drafting. This policy explains what data the extension handles.
Summary
- Postpilot has no backend server of its own. We do not collect, receive, store,
or sell any of your data.
- Everything the extension stores stays locally in your browser
(chrome.storage.local).
- The only outbound network requests are made **directly from your browser to the
AI provider you choose** (DeepSeek, OpenAI, or Anthropic), using the API key you enter.
What data is handled
Data / Where it lives / Sent to us?
- Your API key — Locally in your browser — No
- Post text, queue, campaigns, style profile, settings — Locally in your browser — No
- Topic/brief and post content for AI generation — Sent directly to the chosen AI provider — No
- Your Threads session — Your normal browser session; the extension does not read or store your credentials — No
How the extension works
- It acts inside your already-logged-in
threads.comtab to place text you
prepared into the native scheduling form. It does not read or transmit your login credentials.
- AI generation and account-style analysis send the relevant text and your API key
only to the AI provider you selected, governed by that provider's own privacy policy.
What we do NOT do
- We do not run any server that receives your data.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
- We do not use remote code.
- We do not track your browsing.
Third-party AI providers
If you enable AI features, requests go directly to the provider you choose. Review their policies:
