Privacy Policy — Media Converter
Effective date: September 29, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Media Converter (the “App”) processes information. “We,” “our,” and “us” refer to the App’s developer ([Your Company/Developer Legal Name]). If you have questions, contact: mrloganriosammy@outlook.com.
Quick summary: Media conversion and compression are performed on your device. We do not upload or scan the contents of your audio, video, or photos to our servers. Limited technical and purchase data may be processed to operate the App, improve reliability, and manage subscriptions.
1) Who we are & scope
- Controller: [Your Company/Developer Legal Name] (the “Controller”).
- Email: mrloganriosammy@outlook.com
- Address: [Your registered address]
- This Policy applies to the App and any related in‑app services.
If you are in the EEA/UK/Switzerland, this Policy is intended to meet GDPR/UK GDPR requirements. If you are in California, it also addresses CPRA (formerly CCPA).
2) What the App does
The App converts and compresses audio, video, and image files. Unless you explicitly choose to share a file via another app or service, processing occurs locally on your device using device resources and on‑device libraries.
3) Information we
do not
collect
- Your media content (the actual audio, video, images you edit/convert) is not uploaded to our servers and is not accessible to us.
- We do not use your media content to build profiles, train models, or for advertising.
4) Information we may process
Depending on your device/platform settings and your choices, we may process:
- Purchase & subscription data: product identifiers, receipts, subscription status, transaction timestamps; processed by the platform store (e.g., Apple). We do not receive your full payment details.
- Diagnostics & crash data (if enabled on your device): app version, device model, OS version, crash logs, performance metrics, coarse usage events (e.g., feature opened, error codes). Used only to fix bugs and improve stability.
- Support communications: email address and the content of your messages when you contact us.
- Device permissions you grant: access to Photos/Media Library, Files/Storage, Camera or Microphone (only if you use features that require them). Permission status is stored by the OS; we only check whether permission is granted to enable the feature.
Optional SDKs: If you enable analytics/crash reporting or subscription management, limited data may be processed by service providers (e.g., Apple App Store, crash analytics, subscription SDKs). See Section 7.
5) Legal bases for processing (GDPR/UK GDPR)
We rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract/Performance: to provide the App’s core functionality.
- Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, and improve the App (e.g., diagnostics). We balance these interests against your rights.
- Consent: where required (e.g., optional analytics in some regions). You can withdraw consent at any time via device settings or in‑app controls, where offered.
6) How we use information
- Provide and operate the App features you request;
- Process purchases/subscriptions and verify eligibility;
- Diagnose crashes and improve performance;
- Communicate with you when you reach out for support;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce Terms.
7) Sharing & disclosures
We do not sell your data. We may share limited data with:
- Platform stores (e.g., Apple) to process purchases and manage subscriptions.
- Service providers/Processors (only if used): e.g., crash analytics, subscription management, cloud messaging for support replies. These providers process data under our instructions and are bound by confidentiality.
- Legal/Compliance: when required by law, to protect rights, safety, and prevent fraud.
Examples of processors you might use with this App (configure based on your build):
Apple App Store (IAP/Subscriptions, receipt validation);
Crash reporting/analytics (e.g., Apple diagnostics / Crashlytics / equivalent);
Subscription SDK/Server (e.g., for entitlement status).
Update this list in your release notes/website as your stack changes.
Refund-Related Data Sharing
We may share limited anonymized information with Apple when a user requests a refund for an in-app purchase. This includes (but is not limited to) time since installation, usage duration, an anonymous account identifier, purchase consumption details, and transaction amounts, solely for the purpose of processing and verifying refund requests. No personally identifiable information is shared.
8) Data retention
- Purchase metadata: retained as long as needed to provide entitlements and meet legal/accounting obligations.
- Diagnostics: retained for the shortest reasonable period to analyze issues and improve the App.
- Support emails: retained while we handle your request and for a reasonable period thereafter.
9) Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the risks (e.g., limiting the scope of data we process; using OS‑level secure storage where applicable). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10) International transfers
Where data is processed outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) when required by law.
11) Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g., your local data protection authority in the EEA/UK). To exercise rights, contact mrloganriosammy@outlook.com.
12) Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age where parental consent is required in your region. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
13) Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control
The App does not respond to DNT signals. Where GPC or regional consent signals apply, we honor them to the extent required by law.
14) Changes to this Policy
We will update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be effective on posting within the App or on our website/app store listing, with a new “Effective date.”
