Privacy Policy — MYXA VPN Chrome Extension

Effective date: August 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the MYXA VPN Chrome Extension (“MYXA VPN”, “the Extension”, “we”, “us”) processes information when you use the Extension.

By using the Extension, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Purpose of the Extension

MYXA VPN has a single purpose: to allow users to route browser network traffic through a selected proxy server.

The Extension provides an interface for selecting an available server location, connecting to and disconnecting from the proxy service, and maintaining the connection while it is active.

2. Information We Process

The Extension processes only information necessary to provide and maintain its functionality.

Installation Identifier

When the Extension is first used, it generates a random installation identifier (UUID) locally in the browser.

This identifier is used to create and maintain an Extension session, manage device activations associated with a subscription, and help prevent abuse of the service.

The installation identifier is not intended to directly identify you as an individual.

Activation Key and Session Token

If you use a subscription or activation key, the key is submitted to our service to verify access and activate available features.

A session token may then be issued and stored by the Extension so that your session can remain active.

Activation and session information is used only to provide, authenticate, and manage access to the service.

Extension and Browser Information

The Extension may transmit its version and the browser User-Agent string when activating a device.

This information is used for technical compatibility and to help distinguish activated devices associated with a subscription.

Selected Server Location

When you initiate a connection, the Extension sends the code of the selected server location to our service so that an appropriate proxy server can be assigned.

IP Address

Our servers necessarily receive your IP address when your device establishes a network connection with them.

We do not use the IP address to build browsing profiles or advertising profiles.

IP addresses may be temporarily recorded when repeated unsuccessful proxy authentication attempts occur in order to prevent abuse, unauthorized access, or automated authentication attempts.

3. Browsing Activity

MYXA VPN does not collect or store your browsing history.

The Extension does not use content scripts to read the contents of websites you visit.

We do not use the Extension to collect:

  • browsing history;
  • page content;
  • information entered into website forms;
  • website passwords;
  • website cookies;
  • search history;
  • advertising identifiers.

Proxy infrastructure is configured not to maintain logs of destination websites associated with individual users.

For HTTPS connections, website content remains protected by the HTTPS connection established between your browser and the destination website.

4. Proxy and Network Permissions

The Extension uses Chrome’s proxy functionality to configure the browser to use the proxy server selected by the user.

Network-related permissions are required to establish and maintain this connection and to respond to authentication requests from the configured proxy server.

These permissions are not used to inject advertisements, modify the content of websites, or collect browsing history.

5. Host Permissions

The Extension requires access to MYXA service endpoints in order to perform functions such as:

  • creating and validating Extension sessions;
  • retrieving available server locations;
  • validating subscription access;
  • requesting connection configuration;
  • obtaining temporary proxy authentication information.

Broad host access may also be required so that Chrome can handle proxy authentication while the user browses different websites through the configured proxy.

The Extension does not use host permissions to read or modify the content of websites visited by the user.

6. Local Storage

The Extension uses Chrome’s storage functionality to store information required for its operation, including:

  • Extension preferences;
  • selected server location;
  • connection state;
  • session information;
  • locally cached service information.

Temporary proxy authentication information may be kept only for the period necessary to maintain an active connection.

Removing the Extension removes data stored by the Extension in Chrome’s extension storage.

7. Notifications

The Extension may use Chrome notifications to provide information directly related to its operation, including installation information or important connection-related events.

Notifications are not used for third-party advertising.

8. Background Operations

The Extension may perform limited background operations necessary to maintain an active connection.

Chrome’s alarms functionality may be used to refresh temporary proxy connection credentials before they expire or to retry a failed refresh operation.

These background operations are used only to maintain the functionality requested by the user.

9. Remote Code

The Extension does not download or execute remote JavaScript, WebAssembly, or other executable code.

All executable Extension code is included within the Extension package distributed through the Chrome Web Store.

The Extension communicates with MYXA servers to retrieve data necessary for operation, such as session information, available server locations, subscription status, connection configuration, and temporary proxy authentication information.

Information received from the API is treated as data and is not executed as program code.

10. Server Operational Data

Our proxy infrastructure may process aggregate technical information necessary to operate and monitor the service, including:

  • number of active connections;
  • amount of transferred network traffic;
  • server CPU and memory utilization;
  • number of failed authentication attempts.

These operational metrics are used for service operation, reliability, capacity management, security, and abuse prevention.

They are not intended to create a record of an individual user’s browsing activity.

11. Payment Information

The Chrome Extension does not process payment card information.

Any payments or subscription purchases made through MYXA’s external services are separate from the Extension and may be subject to the privacy policies and terms applicable to those services and payment providers.

12. Personal Information We Do Not Request

The Extension does not require users to provide information such as:

  • full name;
  • postal address;
  • phone number;
  • age;
  • precise device geolocation.

The Extension itself does not require an email address to perform its core proxy connection functionality.

13. Sale and Use of Data

We do not sell information collected or processed through the Extension.

We do not use information processed by the Extension for personalized advertising.

We do not transfer information collected through the Extension to third parties for advertising, profiling, or data-broker purposes.

Information may be disclosed where required by applicable law or in response to a valid and legally binding request from a competent authority.

14. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain active subscriptions and device sessions, protect the service against abuse, comply with applicable legal obligations, and resolve technical or security issues.

Temporary authentication and security information is retained only for the period necessary for its intended operational or security purpose.

15. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed by the Extension and supporting infrastructure against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.

No method of electronic transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security.

16. User Choices and Data Deletion

Users may stop all processing by the Extension by disconnecting the proxy connection and uninstalling the Extension.

Users may also remove or unbind activated devices where this functionality is available.

Requests concerning deletion of information associated with a subscription can be submitted to MYXA support.

17. Children’s Privacy

MYXA VPN is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we become aware that personal information relating to a child has been collected contrary to applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Extension, our infrastructure, applicable requirements, or our data-processing practices change.

When the Policy is updated, the effective date at the top of this page will also be updated.

Material changes affecting how information is processed will be reflected in this Policy.
