Extension StriderPrivacy Policy for GigPulse
Last updated: October 2026
Extension Strider ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the GigPulse: Upwork & Freelance Job Alerts Chrome Extension ("GigPulse" or "the Extension") handles user data.
1. Core Principle: Zero External Data Collection
GigPulse does not collect, sell, monetize, transmit, or share your personal data, browsing history, identity information, or search activities with any proprietary or third-party servers. All processing and storage occur entirely locally inside your browser.
2. Data Handled by the Extension
All configurations and temporary job data are handled strictly on your local device:
- Keywords & Platform Preferences: Your chosen search terms, platform toggles, and notification preferences are saved on your device using the Chrome Storage API (
chrome.storage.local). - Proposal Templates: Any custom text entered into the fast-fill proposal template field remains on your machine and is never sent over the internet.
- Matched Lead History: The cache of recently matched job records is stored locally in your browser storage so you can review recent leads.
- No Account Credentials: GigPulse does not require, ask for, or store your login credentials, passwords, session cookies, or account tokens for Upwork, Freelancer.com, WeWorkRemotely, RemoteOK, or any other platform.
3. Browser Permissions & Justification
The Extension requests the minimum permissions necessary to perform its core single purpose:
storage: Used exclusively to save your search filters, pitch templates, and lead history locally on your machine.alarms: Used to run periodic background checks (every 1 to 5 minutes) to fetch public job listings while Google Chrome is active.notifications: Used to present native desktop alerts when a newly posted job matches your configured keywords.- Host Permissions (
*.upwork.com,*.freelancer.com,*.weworkremotely.com,*.remoteok.com): Used strictly to fetch public RSS feeds and search results directly from target platforms to your browser without routing through an intermediary proxy server. - Host Permission (
*.extensionpay.com): Used to verify subscription license validity and check whether premium features are unlocked.
4. Payments and Subscription Processing
Subscriptions and payments are processed externally by ExtensionPay and Stripe.
- GigPulse does not collect, view, or store payment card details, bank information, or billing addresses.
- When you choose to upgrade to PRO, payment details are collected directly by Stripe under Stripe’s standard security policies.
- ExtensionPay provides the Extension solely with a verification token indicating whether a paid license is active.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Because all data is stored locally in your browser:
- You can clear your matched leads at any time using the in-app "Clear All" button.
- Uninstalling the Extension from Google Chrome automatically and permanently deletes all stored preferences, templates, and lead records from your device.
