Privacy Policy – E-Signature App

Effective date: September 14, 2025

Contact email: mcginnispaul56379z@gmail.com

This Privacy Policy explains how the publisher of E-Signature App (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our mobile application (the “App”). We are committed to collecting the minimum data necessary to provide the App’s functionality.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1) Summary (What we do in plain English)

  • We do not run our own servers for your documents or signatures. Your documents, pages, and handwritten signatures are processed on your device.
  • Cloud is optional. If you choose to save or sync using iCloud Drive or your own cloud provider via the iOS Share Sheet, your data is handled by those providers under their terms.
  • No advertising, no tracking. We do not display ads, track you across apps, or sell your data.
  • Support only. If you contact us, we’ll use your email solely to respond.
  • Diagnostics (optional/Apple-provided). Crash and usage diagnostics may be provided by Apple if you’ve opted in at the system level; we do not link these to your identity.

2) What Information We Collect

A. Data you create or import in the App (on-device)

  • Documents and pages you scan, import, sign, annotate, or export
  • Handwritten signatures, stamps, and overlays
  • Settings and preferences (e.g., default pen thickness, recent files list)

Where stored: On your device by default.

We do not receive this data unless you deliberately send it to us (e.g., via email for support) or store it in a cloud service you choose.

B. Cloud services you choose to use (optional)

  • If you save to iCloud Drive, Apple processes and stores your files under your Apple ID pursuant to Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
  • If you export to third-party storage (e.g., Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive) or send via Mail/Messages, your data is handled by those services under their respective policies.

C. Contact information (support)

  • Email address and message content when you write to us at mcginnispaul56379z@gmail.com.

D. Diagnostics and analytics (system-level, optional)

  • Crash logs and performance metrics may be shared with developers through Apple’s platform only if you enable “Share with App Developers” in iOS settings.
  • We do not collect device advertising identifiers and do not use third-party analytics SDKs.

3) How We Use Information

  • Provide core features (create, view, sign, annotate, export documents) – on-device processing.
  • Cloud syncing or export when you explicitly choose those options (e.g., iCloud Drive, Share Sheet).
  • Support: respond to your inquiries.
  • Diagnostics and safety: understand crashes and improve stability if you opted in at the OS level.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers.

We do not build marketing profiles or track you across apps or websites.

Where applicable (e.g., GDPR/UK GDPR/Swiss LPD):

  • Performance of a contract: to deliver the App features you request.
  • Legitimate interests: to maintain and improve App stability and security (e.g., diagnostics you’ve consented to share with Apple).
  • Consent: when you choose to use iCloud or third-party sharing services.

You can withdraw consent by disabling the relevant feature (e.g., stop saving to iCloud, disable OS-level sharing of diagnostics).

5) Data Sharing & Processors

We generally do not share your data. Limited cases:

  • Apple (platform services): iCloud Drive storage (if you enable it), crash logs (if you opt in). Apple acts as an independent controller for iCloud; for crash/analytics, Apple may act as a provider per its terms.
  • Email service: your support emails are processed by your and our email providers for message delivery.
  • Third-party destinations you choose: If you export or share a document/signature, the receiving app/service processes that content under its own policy.

We do not use ad networks, marketing trackers, or third-party analytics SDKs.

6) Data Retention

  • On-device documents/signatures: remain on your device (or your iCloud Drive/third-party storage) until you delete them.
  • Support emails: kept for up to 24 months to help with follow-ups, then deleted unless law requires longer.
  • Diagnostics: controlled by your OS-level settings; we do not store copies outside Apple’s developer tools.

7) Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. On iOS, your data benefits from device-level security (e.g., Secure Enclave, passcode/Face ID/Touch ID).

If you enable iCloud, your content is protected per Apple’s security measures. No method is 100% secure, but we work to minimize risk and data collection.

8) Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the age defined by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9) Your Rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland/California), you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Data portability
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights (California)
  • Know whether your data is sold or “shared” (we do not sell or share your data for cross-context behavioral advertising)

Most App data is on your device. You can delete documents/signatures directly in the App or from iCloud/third-party services you use.

For support emails or rights requests, contact: mcginnispaul56379z@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request.

10) International Transfers

If you email us, your message may be processed on servers outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses). iCloud storage locations are managed by Apple.

11) No “Sale” or “Sharing” (CPRA/CCPA)

We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the CPRA/CCPA.

12) App Store Privacy Labels (How we classify data)

  • User Content: Documents, pages, signatures – stored on device / in iCloud if you enable it; not collected by us.
  • Contact Info: Email (support only) – collected from you, not linked to you across apps, not used for tracking.
  • Diagnostics: Crash data/performance (from Apple if you opted in) – not linked to you, not used for tracking.

We do not use data for third-party advertising or tracking.

13) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law or our practices. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective date above and, where required, notify you in-App.

14) Contact
