Overview

Cipher ("the app") is a local party game built to work without internet access and without collecting any information about you or your device. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it stays, and what it never does.

Data We Collect

We collect nothing.

Cipher does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data, usage data, analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind. No information about you, your device, or your gameplay ever leaves your device.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following information locally on your device only, using Android's Jetpack DataStore:

• Your chosen nickname
• Your chosen avatar
• Your preferred language (English, Russian, or Uzbek)
• Your preferred theme (dark or light)
• Your sound effects preference (on or off)

This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted over any network — local or otherwise. It is permanently deleted when you uninstall the app.

Network Usage

Cipher uses your local Wi-Fi network exclusively for multiplayer gameplay. All communication takes place directly between devices on the same network using local TCP sockets and mDNS service discovery (Android NSD).

• No data is routed through the internet
• No external server is involved at any point
• No data is retained after the game session ends
• Offline Mode requires no network connection of any kind

Camera

The camera permission is used solely to scan QR codes when joining a multiplayer room. It is requested at the moment of use and only for that purpose. No images, video, or camera data are stored, transmitted, or processed beyond reading the QR code value.

Third-Party Services

Cipher does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs. No third-party service receives any data from this app.

Advertising

Cipher contains no advertisements of any kind.

In-App Purchases

Cipher contains no in-app purchases.

Children's Privacy

Cipher does not collect any data from any user, including children under the age of 13. The app contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, and no account registration of any kind.

Your Rights

Because Cipher collects no personal data, there is no data to access, correct, export, or delete on our end. All locally stored preferences can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the app.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, the revised version will be published at the same URL with an updated date at the top. Given that the app collects no data, material changes are unlikely.
