Privacy Policy — AI Passport
AI PassportLast updated: October 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how AI Passport ('we', 'us', or 'our') handles user information when you install and use the AI Passport browser extension and related services.
1. Local-First Data Storage
AI Passport is built with a strict privacy-first architecture. All your digital passports, tone preferences, project contexts, rules, and saved memories are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's secure local storage API (chrome.storage.local). We do not operate servers that collect, track, or read your private context data. Your prompts and memories never leave your machine.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
• We do NOT collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, physical address, or phone number.
• We do NOT track your browsing history or monitor websites you visit outside of the supported AI tools when you explicitly activate the extension.
• We do NOT record keystrokes or audio.
• We do NOT sell, rent, or monetize your personal context or usage data to third parties or advertising networks.
3. Permissions Used and Why
• storage: Used solely to save your custom passports, prompt preferences, and memories locally on your computer.
• activeTab: Used only when you trigger the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P) to insert your selected context into the active prompt box.
• contextMenus: Enables the optional right-click 'Save to AI Passport Memory' shortcut on highlighted text.
• Host Permissions (chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com, etc.): Restricted exclusively to detecting AI prompt fields so the floating badge and injection shortcut work on supported platforms.
4. Payments and Billing
All subscription and lifetime license payments are processed securely through Stripe. AI Passport does not store or process your credit card number, CVV, or banking details.
