Twitter Reply Assistant ("the Extension") is a browser extension that helps users generate AI-powered replies to tweets. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Data We Collect

1. Tweet Content (Temporary)

- What: Text content of tweets you choose to reply to, including author name, handle, and any links in the tweet.

- Why: To generate contextually relevant reply suggestions.

- Storage: This data is NOT stored. It is only sent to OpenAI's API during the reply generation process and discarded immediately after.

2. User Configuration (Local Storage)

- What: Your preferences including:

- Display name and bio (optional)

- Interests (optional)

- Tone preference

- Reply style settings (language, emoji, max length)

- Selected AI model

- Why: To personalize generated replies to match your style.

- Storage: Stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. Never sent to any server except as context to OpenAI when generating replies.

3. OpenAI API Key (Local Storage)

- What: Your personal OpenAI API key.

- Why: To authenticate requests to OpenAI's API for generating replies.

- Storage: Stored locally in your browser. Only sent directly to OpenAI's servers, never to any other server.

Third-Party Services

OpenAI API

We use OpenAI's API to generate reply suggestions. When you click "Generate Replies":

- Tweet content and your profile context are sent to OpenAI

- OpenAI processes this data according to their [Privacy Policy](https://openai.com/privacy/)

- We do not store any data on our servers

Data We Do NOT Collect

- We do NOT collect your Twitter credentials

- We do NOT track your browsing history

- We do NOT have any analytics or tracking

- We do NOT have any backend servers

- We do NOT sell or share your data with anyone

Data Security

- All data is stored locally in your browser

- Your API key is stored securely using Chrome's storage API

- No data is transmitted except directly to OpenAI's API

Your Rights

- **Access**: All your data is stored locally and can be viewed in the extension popup

- **Delete**: Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data

- **Control**: You can modify or clear your settings at any time

Children's Privacy

This extension is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date.
