Effective date: 29 October 2026 Applies to: TaskRoket: Markdown Snap (Chrome extension, version 1.0.0) Developer: TaskRoket · contact: support@vash-lending.ru

In one sentence

Markdown Snap turns the page you are reading into a Markdown file on your own device. It does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data, and it has no server to send anything to.

What the extension processes

| Data | When | Where it goes | |---|---|---| | Text of the current page | Only after you press the button, the toolbar icon or Ctrl+Shift+F | Converted in the tab; never leaves the browser | | The last export (up to 200 000 characters) | When you export | chrome.storage.local on your device | | Up to 8 recent exports (title, URL, size, time) | When you export | chrome.storage.local on your device | | Counters (exports, characters, up to 60 host names, last run) | When you export | chrome.storage.local on your device | | Settings (switches, length limit, theme, language) | When you change them | chrome.storage.local on your device |

The extension reads a page only when you explicitly ask for an export. It does not run in the background, does not watch what you browse and does not touch forms, passwords, cookies or browsing history.

What the extension never does

  • No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or advertising identifiers.
  • No accounts, no sign-in, no backend, no third-party requests.
  • No remote code: all scripts are shipped inside the extension package.
  • No selling or sharing of data with third parties — there is no data to share.
  • No use of page content for purposes unrelated to the export you requested.

Permissions and why they are needed

locally, so the popup can show them and the file can be saved again.

  • `storage` — keeps settings, counters, export history and the last export

whatever page you are on; the address cannot be known in advance. The content script only injects a floating button and waits for your click.

  • Host access to all sites (`<all_urls>`) — the extension has to convert

No other permissions are requested.

Data retention and deletion

Everything lives in chrome.storage.local inside your browser profile. The reset button on the options page restores default settings; clearing the extension's storage or removing the extension deletes all of it. Files you saved are ordinary .md files on your disk and are outside the extension's reach.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Page content is processed only to produce the Markdown file the user asked for, is never transferred to the developer or a third party, and is never used for advertising, profiling or creditworthiness.

Children

The extension is not directed to children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address with a new effective date, and the extension's changelog will note it.
