Privacy Policy - Storyvel

Ramin Akhmad

Effective date: August 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Storyvel ("the App") handles your information. The App is developed and operated by Ramin Akhmad ("Developer," "we," "us"). If you have questions, contact us at raro.app.dev@gmail.com.

1. Summary

Storyvel is a personal travel diary. It is designed to keep your data on your device and in your own private iCloud account — we do not operate our own servers, we do not have user accounts, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect or receive your data on our own servers. The information below is created and stored by you, on your device and in your personal iCloud account:

  • Travel data you enter: countries, cities, trip dates, trip names, and diary notes.
  • Photos: images you attach to trips.
  • App usage data generated on-device: badge progress, statistics, and preferences, all derived from the travel data above.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or contact details through the App itself.

3. How Your Information Is Stored and Synced

Storyvel uses Apple's SwiftData framework with iCloud (CloudKit) to store your data locally and sync it across your own devices signed into the same Apple ID. This means:

  • Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account, governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).
  • We (the Developer) do not have access to your iCloud data. We cannot see, read, or export your trips, notes, or photos.
  • If you disable iCloud sync or sign out of iCloud, your data remains only on your local device.

4. In-App Purchases

Storyvel offers an optional premium subscription, processed entirely through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) are collected and processed by Apple — we never see or store them. We only receive confirmation from Apple of whether you hold an active subscription, which is used to unlock premium features on your device.

5. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

The App does not currently include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not use cookies (the App is not a website) and we do not track you across other apps or websites. If this changes in a future update, this Policy will be updated in advance and, where required, we will ask for your consent.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. The only party that processes your data on our behalf is Apple, strictly to provide iCloud sync and in-app purchase functionality, under Apple's own privacy terms.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your travel data persists for as long as you keep it in the App. You can delete individual trips at any time within the App. Deleting the App from your device removes local data; if iCloud sync was enabled, data may remain in your iCloud account until also removed via your device's iCloud settings (Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage). Because we have no access to your iCloud data, we cannot delete it on your behalf — but since we never held a copy either, there is nothing further for us to erase.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data (for example, under the UK/EU GDPR or US state privacy laws). Because your data lives in your own iCloud account rather than on our servers, you exercise these rights directly through your device's Settings and iCloud controls, or by deleting data within the App. For any other privacy questions or requests, contact us at raro.app.dev@gmail.com and we will respond promptly.

9. International Users

Apple's iCloud infrastructure may store and process data on servers located in various countries. Refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on international data transfers.

10. Children's Privacy

Storyvel is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can address it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as the App gains new features. We will update the "Effective date" above when changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
