1. Overview & Privacy-First Commitment

Pedal is designed with a strict privacy-first architecture. We do NOT sell, lease, or monetize personal user data or cycling routes to third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.

2. Location Data (Foreground & Background GPS)

• Purpose: GPS location data is processed strictly in real-time to compute cycling speed, distance, elevation gain, live map tracking, and turn-by-turn route navigation.

• Background Location: When a ride is actively recording, background location is utilized so tracking continues seamlessly while your screen is locked or while using other apps. Location access terminates immediately when the ride is finished or paused.

• Privacy Zone: Users can activate the Privacy Zone feature in Settings to automatically hide and obscure the starting and ending portions of rides near home or workplace.

3. Health & Fitness Data (Optional BLE Sensors)

Pedal connects optionally to external Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitors (BLE HRM) to display live heart rate and training effort. This sensor data is kept strictly private and is never shared with third parties.

4. Account & Local Data Storage

• Guest Mode: Users can enjoy all cycling metrics and route features locally on their device without creating an account.

• Cloud Sync: Users who choose to sign in with Google have their ride history backed up securely via Firebase Cloud.

5. Permissions & User Control

• Location (Fine & Background): For GPS ride metrics.

• Bluetooth: For connecting heart rate and speed/cadence sensors.

• Notifications: For live ride dashboard and weather-based cycling tips.

• Storage/Photos: For saving Share Studio graphic cards to your gallery.

6. Data Deletion & Contact

Users may clear all local ride history at any time from the Settings screen or request complete account and cloud data deletion by emailing: kadirmo@gmail.com.
