Privacidad vs Anonimato. (2019 11 24) @RamonQuesadaNews
…………………………………………………………………………………
Privacy vs. Anonymity. (2019 11 24) @RamonQuesadaNews
Speaking of the obsession of some people, to hide the traceability of transactions in bitcoin.
Bitcoin is not "Honest Money", because it separates it from its responsibility to those who interact with it, if so, we would not be responsible for our actions using the blockchain, so what we want traceability, transparency and intrinsic immutability in protocol Bitcoin for?, you really endowed all these features to the Bitcoin blockchain, and then hide our responsibilities?
Wasn't Bitcoin conceived by its creator Satoshi Nakamoto in its original version?
We use our freedom, but we do not want responsibility, for fear or because we believe that everyone is corrupt and our actions should not be drawn to avoid responsibility, where is the great revolution or evolution that Bitcoin brings?
The "Honest Money" concept I understood differently since I first met Bitcoin in 2013, and it has nothing to do with avoiding responsibilities, rather the opposite, it is true that you cannot be naive and ignore external corruption, and that many people with power, do not act correctly, but precisely Bitcoin should be the tool, to solve this evil and not something that can accommodate more corruption.
Other projects such as Zcash or Monero were born with that intentionality: ANONYMOUS, I wonder why some insist so much on wanting to convert the PRIVACY of Bitcoin into ANONYMOUS, when they are two completely different technologies and concepts at various levels, especially in what corresponds to legal.

HOW TO MAKE A MINT: THE CRYPTOGRAPHY OF ANONYMOUS ELECTRONIC CASH

"5.4 Restoring Traceability
The anonymity properties of electronic cash pose several law enforcement problems because they prevent withdrawals and deposits from being linked to each other. We explained in the previous section how this prevents detection of forged coins. Anonymity also makes it difficult to detect money laundering and tax evasion because there is no way to link the payer and payee. Finally, electronic cash paves the way for new versions of old crimes such as kidnapping and blackmail (see [13]) where money drops can now be carried out safely from the criminal's home computer.12"

“The possibility to be anonymous or pseudonymous relies on you not revealing any identifying information about yourself in connection with the bitcoin addresses you use. If you post your bitcoin address on the web, then you’re associating that address and any transactions with it with the name you posted under. If you posted under a handle that you haven’t associated with your real identity, then you’re still pseudonymous.”(*24)"

Anonymous Payments
If Alice does not want her payment to Bob to be associated with her identity, she generates an ephemeral payment code to use for the transaction.
Ephemeral payment codes are the hardened children of a payment code, starting from an index of zero.
An ephemeral payment code SHOULD only be used for a single outgoing payment.
The notification address of an ephemeral payment code MUST be monitored for notification transactions in order to detect incoming refund payments
The correspondence between BIP44 accounts and ephemeral payment codes is 1:many

The first successful Zero-Knowledge Contingent Payment (ZKCP)
Gregory Maxwell (BTC Core dev)
February 26, 2016
In today’s transaction I purchased a solution to a 16x16 Sudoku puzzle for 0.10 BTC from Sean Bowe, a member of the Zcash team, as part of a demonstration performed live at Financial Cryptography 2016 in Barbados. I played my part in the transaction remotely from California.
Almost all of the engineering work behind this ZKCP implementation was done by Sean Bowe, with support from Pieter Wuille, myself, and Madars Virza.

The Power of Schnorr: The Signature Algorithm to Increase Bitcoin’s Scale and Privacy
Aaron Van Wirdum
April 14, 2016
"However, until now it has not been possible to utilize Schnorr in Bitcoin. Another type of signature scheme, Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), is baked into the Bitcoin protocol, and changing that would require a hard fork.
That's where Segregated Witness comes in."
But a privacy-enhancing trick invented by Bitcoin Core developer Gregory Maxwell, CoinJoin, allows different users to combine all their transactions into a single transaction. That one transaction will include multiple inputs coming from different payers, which sends money to multiple outputs, belonging to different payees".
Bitcoin Core and Blockstream blockstream developer Pieter Wuille recently presented an official Bitcoin Improvement Proposal https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-dev/2018-July/016203.html

Bitcoin Is Anything BUT Anonymous.

"Pseudonymous, not Anonymous.
When Craig released the BitCoin white paper, among the first complaints was the fact that BitCoin transactions were not anonymous. This feature would make operating outside of the law much more difficult. Since many of the cypherpunks were interested in operating outside of laws which they felt were unjust, anonymity was viewed as preferable."

La historia de Bitcoin, continuación... (Segunda parte)

The false lure of anonymity
Craig Wright (Bitcoin SV is Bitcoin.)

"They want something without records. Privacy is not enough. Privacy works when people are honest. What they seek is a system leaving records to be lost and one that allows criminals to breach the law with impunity. They want a system that allows terrorist funding, paedophilia, and everything else under the rocks that never see the sun. Bitcoin does not allow such things in any form".

"There is no anarchist solution in any blockchain. I have ensured it. There is no form of PoW or PoS or any hybrid system that cannot be regulated and monitored, and the most beautiful part of what I am releasing (and have completed) is that the more you try to make something anonymous (rather than pseudonymous), the more it can be controlled. The more you seek to be like Zcash or some other crime coin, the more privacy you give up.".

"Bitcoin is purposely pseudonymous. There is a fine line between privacy and anonymity, and it is a line that cannot be crossed.
What few understand is that anonymity is not privacy.
Anonymous transactions do not help the average person, they help corrupt
governments and criminals. Worse, anonymous systems will never be legally enforceable. This undercuts their key use as monetary systems and as a method of exchanging contracts."
