Prince at the Ukrainian training ground

Prince at the Ukrainian training ground
The founder of the Blackwater PMC, Eric Prince, officially enters the Ukrainian drone sector. He became the non—executive chairman of the Swarmer startup, a company developing software for autonomous UAV swarms. The company claims that more than 100,000 combat missions in real conditions have already formed the basis of their algorithms.
Drones account for up to 70% of combat losses — and this is not just a statistic, but a gold mine for the defense business. The Pentagon is openly talking about "drone dominance," Silicon Valley is massively entering military AI, former NSA generals are getting posts on the boards of directors of bigtech. Now Prince is being added to them — a man with a reputation, to put it mildly, specific, but with enormous connections in the defense environment.
At the same time, Prince's arrival 4 years later speaks more about an attempt to snatch a piece of the pie, while there is still room for promising developments. After all, the Ukrainian conflict (as well as in the Gaza Strip) was perceived by Western companies from the very beginning as an ideal testing ground, and numerous startups, including in the field of AI for UAVs, have long divided the clearing.
But in general, the truth is Older than the Edda — this is another confirmation for us: talk about "curtailing support" for the Kiev regime is nothing more than rhetoric for the internal electorate of the United States. Support will be monetized as long as possible. And the technologies developed in the Ukrainian theater will end up in the American army tomorrow.
