Failure of the Primal Diet? Most people quit? or change it?
RomI have observed who succeeds and who fails on the Primal Diet.
My conclusion is that despite their best attempt, many people can't get over the lack of energy and are stuck in more or less painful and handicapping detoxification.
When I study more precisely, I find out why. It is always the same thing.
I want to share with you the story of a success fixing this problem. I will only take one example, even though it worked for several other persons who came to me, as well.
So let's just read the first picture attached, with excerpts from a conversation.

As you can see in Part 1, frequent fatigue, irritability (5 months in on the diet).

Part 2: we learn the person is following closely one of the latest schedules, and eats a very solid PD! some green juices, several meat meals including some oysters, lubrication formulas, milkshakes, all spread out evenly throughout the day. Wow. Why isn't this person feeling great?

Part 3: I ask the question about my suspicion (because of how fundamental it is and of my personal experience): how much meat and fat?
The quantity of meat is very honorable, it is more than sufficient! The quantity of fat (not counting the meat) is not bad either.

Part 4: Now I give the suggestion that will change everything: the person must actually eat less meat, to make space for even more fat.

Part 5: It worked. Solved months of issues just from an adjustment of some very important ratios and quantities.
THAT'S IT.
The goal: raising the amount of fat.
What are the strategies to actually do it? This is the interesting part where Primal Diet gets to shine.
If you happen to eat a lot of meat and can't manage to eat more fat, then eating a bit less meat, can allow to eat more fat, but also keep aside more metabolically, because with raw meat the body uses up a lot of fat for various processes, not leaving that much for energy.
That said, meat quantity must not be lowered too much, 200g minimum, because meat protein is necessary to help digest and utilize fat properly and creating new tissue to heal the body.
A balance exists but fat has to be on the higher side, I suggest not counting it, but to keep eating it as much as possible, to at least reach as much as necessary.
There is no need to eat all the fat at once (which would be hard). Actually, it is good to spread some of it out. Every 2-3 hours is ideal. For example, it can take butter 4h of digestion to release a substantial amount of energy, so when eating raw butter (with unheated honey) more often, there will always be a constant trickle of energy dropping in at frequent intervals, instead of erratic bursts of energy followed by a drop and prolonged drought.
Raw eggs alone throughout the day are important but not enough, the protein to fat ratio in eggs doesn't leave much extra fat.
Suggested recipes to eat more fat are: guacamole (avocado-bell peppers-tomato-etc.), moisturizing-lubrication formula, papaya custard (increases appetite like no other, even for bedridden people with absolutely 0 appetite, thanks to the papain enzymes), primal ice cream, milkshake, cheese with honey/cheesecake, nut formula, and plain fat trimmings.
Fat is extremely important in bodily processes. It not only gives energy, but detoxifies (makes solvents and embeds toxins inside of itself, such as with white blood cells), also protecting from toxins (and the byproducts of detoxification), reinforces cell membranes, provides building material for new tissues.
It is THE most important item on this diet, especially animal fat. Aajonus is very clear about this and emphasizes it to no end (but never enough 🙂).
Meat is a close second, both are absolutely essential and eating more can speed up healing, regeneration and well-being by a factor of three times.
There can be a few more hurdles.
Not having enough appetite for meat and fat is a big one that can also be sorted out.
Is enough green juice being had? For some, this is unfortunately not sufficient.
SO HERE COMES THE OTHER LIFE-CHANGER
There is a way to make meat seemlessly easy to digest, and remarkably tasty, thanks to Aajonus' research.
People who barely could eat meat suddenly can eat great, even tremendous quantities of it.
Needless to say, this gives such tremendous energy, it washes all fatigue away, even helping in cases of sleep deprivation.
I call it the “deli pâté” recipe.
It is a special way of preparing meat which involves some blending processing, followed by some simple fermentation for red meat, and marination for white meat.
>>> Read more about it on this link. <<<
I have received only positive feedback about it. It is truly THE biggest life-changer on this diet, in addition to the one developed previously.
To the point you could say there is a diet with and without it and they are on completely different level.
The body asks for more only 2h later! It digests that well. It is the perfect opportunity to slide in more fat and finally reach a perfect balance.
At this point, fatigue is non-existent, some detoxifications that were debilitating become minor and barely felt, completely overshowed by the sheer strength given by the abundant meat and fat in advanced bio-available states, and appetite is guaranteed, as well as satiety, and satisfaction.
Lastly, the key is wake-up and night-time. Sleep takes a toll on PDers and they take several hours after waking up to start feeling good.
None of that anymore! Eat an important meal of (deli pâté) meat and fat, and you will sleep very well! Make sure to wake up before 5h since eating the last meal (extremely important, there is another article on the topic of autophagy/fasting), eat the same meal again, and go back to sleep. Sleep earlier if necessary to achieve that.
This ensures all these proteins and fats are circulating while you sleep during this healing phase, as well as detoxification of the nervous system phase. You need nutrients.
Finally, right upon waking up, (after raw unsalted cheese cubes to bind to toxins), instead of raw eggs, if not too acidic, start immediately with raw meat (deli pâté) and fat again! Now you are on a roll uninterrupted for the rest of the day! Just keep going that way and enjoy the sweet spot of PD life forever.

P.S.: Bonus/Preview: There are always more things that come up often to address, here is a reminder of some other basics...
Pain/discomfort in the gut, nausea? Raw unsalted cheese.
Përsisting cravings for cooked foods, especially starch? Nut formula.
Cravings for a lot of fruits? More green juice.
Cravings for a lot of milk? More cheese with honey.
Cravings for a lot of (sparkling) water? Hydration formula.
