Pretty woman, walking down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet
Pretty woman
I don't believe you, you're not the truth
No one could look as good as you

Mercy

Pretty woman, won't you pardon me?
Pretty woman, I couldn't help but see
Pretty woman
That you look lovely as can be
Are you lonely just like me?

Wow

Pretty woman, stop a while
Pretty woman, talk a while
Pretty woman, give your smile to me
Pretty woman, yeah, yeah, yeah
Pretty woman, look my way
Pretty woman, say you'll stay with me

'Cause I need you, I'll treat you right
Come with me baby, be mine tonight

Pretty woman, don't walk on by
Pretty woman, don't make me cry
Pretty woman, don't walk away, hey...
OK

If that's the way it must be, OK
I guess I'll go on home, it's late
There'll be tomorrow night, but wait
What do I see?

Is she walking back to me?
Yeah, she's walking back to me
Oh, oh, pretty woman

Bill Dees, this song's co-writer, recalled how quick Roy Orbison wrote it while his wife, who inspired the song, was out of the house, "He sang it while I was banging my hand down on the table and by the time she returned we had the song. I love the song. From the moment that the rhythm started, I could hear the heels clicking on the pavement, click, click, the pretty woman walking down the street, in a yellow skirt and red shoes. We wrote Oh Pretty Woman on a Friday, the next Friday we recorded it, and the next Friday it was out."

The ending lines, "But wait! What do I see? Is she walking back to me?" were added by Fred Foster, a friend of Roy Orbison, who produced this song.

This track was prominently featured in the 1990 film "Pretty Woman" with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.

On May 14, 2008, The Library of Congress selected "Pretty Woman" for preservation in the National Recording Registry.

[Verse 1: Luke]
Pretty Woman, walking down the street,
Pretty Woman, girl, girl you look so sweet,
Pretty Woman, you, you bring me down to that knee,
Pretty Woman, you make me wanna beg please,
Oh, Pretty Woman.

[Verse 2: Fresh Kid Ice]
Big hairy woman, you need to shave that stuff,
Big hairy woman, you know I bet it's tough.
Big hairy woman, all that hair ain't legit,
'Cause you look like Cousin It.
Big hairy woman

[Verse 3: Brother Marquis]
Bald headed woman, girl your hair won't grow,
Bald headed woman, you got a teeny weeny afro.
Bald headed woman, you know your hair could look nice,
Bald headed woman, first you got to roll it with rice.
Bald headed woman, here let me get this uncle bens for ya,
Ya know what I'm saying, its' better than Rice a Roni
Oh, Bald headed woman

[Bridge: Mr. Mixx]
Big hairy woman, come on in,
[Brother Marquis]
And don't forget your bald headed friend
[Luke]
Hey Pretty Woman, let the boys jump in.

[Verse 4: Mr. Mixx]
Two timin' woman, girl you know you ain't right,
Two timin' woman, you's out with my boy last night
Two timin' woman, that takes a load off my mind,
Two timin' woman, now I know the baby ain't mine
Oh, Two timin' woman
[All]
Oh, Pretty Woman.
