If you're looking for a book on who to draw Manga-style characters, I'm sure this book is as good as any. It's loaded with examples of "pretty girls," and gives the aspiring illustrator more than enough full body poses to learn from. But to just step back for a moment, the examples in this book have to be seen to be believed. Nothing pornographic is included, but the images are dripping with fetishisms. School girls, maids, nurses, women taking showers, how to take off your panties, how naked breasts react when leaning against different objects, catwomen, mermaids, naked women wrapped in bed sheets...I think about the only fetish missing is the leather mask. Page after page, this book unapologetically presents one repressed image after the other...it's hilarious. Strangely, the book lacks things like a page of generic facial expressions or tips for drawing hands. And the broken english text for detailing the nuances of directing the "cute pose" is near unintelligable. But what does any of that matter, I guess, when all you're really interested in is drawing a panty shot as your slutty librarian with the huge, untamed breasts reaches up to grab that Mech manual. Comics rock!

It's really cute but like 90 percent of the book is anatomy. The rest is pretty useful but it's only like 10 pages like the neko, mermaid, winged, and robot girls but again, it's not a lot.

I have several of Hikaru Hayashi's books and they are all really good - this one is no exception. Lots of good reference material and instruction. Its not really for a beginner - but great for a bit more advanced artist. Shows how to draw hair, eyes, and many, many poses.

I'm not an expert mangaka, so I couldn't really use some of the things in this book, but even so, my art has improved dramatically. I still can't figure out the nuances of the poses, but the proportions of my characters, and the clothes that they wear are much better. Even if you are new to manga art I suggest this. WARNING:Naked women in sexy poses. Not a good idea for little kids.

This was a very nice book. It had plenty of reference material.

I'm super happy with this book. Although it's not exactly for beginners, it gives plenty of information on how to draw faces and bodies. I use it to give me ideas and as a reference book, it's very convenient to have around, anytime I feel like drawing. I definitely recommend this one to anybody who likes drawing shoujo!!

I gave it two stars because it arrived quickly and in very good condition. But the content is awful. Most of the drawings are very unattractive and there is a lot of unnecessary nudity. I have another book in this series and it is great and there is nothing in it that's objectionable...even for children. I sure won't buy any books from this artist again.

This is a great book for learning how to draw manga girls. Not the best for ideas on actual characters or outfits, this book goes more into HOW stuff works and lays over, and how the body itself is formed, which is tremendously helpful anyway. I recommend it to fans of manga and anime.

Brilliant Bishoujo!

This is an ideal book for those looking to draw manga girls that are clearly intended to be pretty. From basic structures to accentuations, this book tells you basically all you need to know to get drawing your own Bishoujo girls. Definitely recommend - if you want to draw manga, I would definitely add this book to your collection.

Great Resource!

It's got a lot more than I expected, including many examples on different outfits ranging from basic school girl to dresses to towels, beachwear, and so on. It covers basic anatomy and how to grasp the 'pretty girl' look and a dozen hairstyles. Will definitely reference for the outfits. Book was definitely old and used. Smells a bit funky, but for $2.00 you can't go wrong!

Lots of cute characters.

I bought this book to help me teach anime drawing. Currently, I am teaching one on one private drawing class. I like this book, and so does my student. The drawings are decent. It teaches you how to draw face, hair, body, different poses with different clothes. Unfortunately, there are some drawings which show nudity, so I cannot show them to him. While I am teaching, I only show him the more appropriate drawings.

I've been an online writer for years. I have many different interests, ranging from anime and Japanese culture to animals and art.
This is a list of the most beautiful manga (in my opinion).
The world of manga is full of amazing art. Art by its very nature is meant to invoke an emotion. Some manga have illustrations intended to showcase strength, determination, action and movement, while other titles are focused on love, heartache and vulnerability. Basically, some manga are just aesthetically prettier than others. But which titles have the prettiest and the most beautiful artwork?
This list is solely based on the artwork in the manga and not the art books or colored illustrations. Popularity was not a factor, either. Since art is subjective, you can disagree with me since I can only speak from my objective point of view when judging the artwork.
The manga are ranked based on the complexity and aesthetics of their artwork, as well as the quality of the artists' lines. They're also ranked based on how appropriate the art style is to the story. This list is always subject to change!
The art in Red River is both very simplistic and very complex. The lines of the characters are simple but the attention to detail for all the jewelry, costumes, and scenery is lovely. The manga is also very well research to the Ancient world of the Near Middle East.
In the same vein, Chie Shinohara's latest series, Yume no Shizuku, Ougon no Torikago's artwork is exactly the same to Red River: clean yet lavish. Since they are by the same Mangaka it stands to reason.
Both are very pleasing manga to both read and look at.
Angel Sanctuary has longed been known more for its artwork more than its complex storyline. The art in it is very clear yet very detailed with rich clear lines. The use of shadowing and textures makes the artwork stand out.
Ayumi Kasai's work has very graceful clear lines and the attention to detail on the people is lovely. The use of negative space is beautiful. The result of her work is very lovely.
Art by Ayumi Kasai. Not available for sale.
The art in Vampire Princess Miyu has a delicate style to it that reflects the elegance of the manga perfectly. The lines are graceful, fluid, and very clear. The use of negative space adds refinement.
MeruPuri is a charming and delightful fantasy story and the artwork compliments it perfectly. The attention to detail on everything is very rich and wonderful. The lines are beautiful and graceful.
Clamp is very much known for their amazing artwork and this list could have just been dominated by their work alone, but when I think of Clamp's work in terms of great artwork, X/1999 stands out as being the prettiest.
There are grace and power to the work that makes it lovely to look at. But in all honestly, you really can't go wrong with Clamp's artwork in general.
Song of the Doll is a Korean manga a.k.a Manhwa. The artwork in the story is very soft, clear and graceful. The details are beautiful and the negative space is utilized very well.
Art by Lee Sun-Young. Not available for sale.
Cross Oneself or Cross , is a very underrated and esoteric title that should get more attention. The artwork is stunning, trust me when I say that this picture doesn't do the artwork nearly enough justice. The details in this manga are lovely and even when the manga needs to go a little grotesque it still maintains its beauty.
Alichino is another manga title that is known more for its artwork than its story. But to be fair Alichino's artwork is gorgeous. The lines are crystal clear and precise. The attention to detail on every little element in this manga is stunning to behold.
The Bride of the Water God is another manhwa. Unlike a few other titles on this list, this one is known for its artwork and its storyline. Everything in this manga is gorgeous that even when you're caught up in the story you can easily get distracted by the beauty of the artwork. The details, the lines, the use of space the complexity of the compositions, everything is stunning and the scan does not do this art enough justice.
Tsk,you forgot manga Otoyomegatari. Magnificent art work and faces are more..realistic too.
Emma (a victorian romance) has excellent artwork and I don't know why it isn't featured here.
While bride of the water god art is undeniably beautiful but it fail to capture the most important aspect in storylines: facial expression. I found the character is painted too perfectly sometimes that it no different that a wax doll. Expressionless
Although all of these mangas are beautifully drawn, I'm still a bit disappointed Chang ge xing didn't make the list... If you havent read it yet, I recommend u do. It has both beautiful art and a rich storyline.
Anything by Mori Kaoru. Best art I've seen in manga ever. Just go to any random page of her manga, Otoyomegatari and you'll get what I mean. It's even prettier than Adekan, and that's saying something.
Adekan. Just look it up. It tops ALL of these manga.

Ayu is one of the biggest anime fans out there and watches as many series as possible.
One of the many reasons why we love anime so much is the countless beautiful characters. Their beauty and allure capture our hearts and keep us up during the late hours for furious anime marathons!
Now, without further delay, I present to you my list of the most beautiful female anime characters of all time.
One of the most popular female anime characters ever is Asuna Yuuki of Sword Art Online . Asuna is not just all beauty, she is also one of the best swordsmen in the SAO universe. Her unmatched speed and healing powers also earned her the titles of "The Flash" and "Berserk Healer." There is a reason she was ranked fifth on the list of best fighters in SAO . She is very kind and helpful and plays an instrumental role in the quest to escape from SAO. Her popularity started in the virtual world, but it spread widely both on and offline and in anime communities too! Her boyfriend Kirito is such a lucky guy.
You may need an explanation of what bishoujo actually is. It literally means "pretty girl" in Japanese. Within the anime fanbase, the term is used to generally refer to female characters that are young and attractive. The term is not typically used for female characters that are mature and sophisticated. Bishoujo characters often cater to a male audience and evoke a sense of cuteness. While standard for the shoujo genre of anime, these characters can appear in a variety of genres as this list will illustrate.
Almost every guy's dream girl (except for Mitsuo) is Kaga Kouko of Golden Time. This amazing beauty can be both wild and loving at the same time. She is a freshman law student that is always seen in stylish clothes. Despite her bratty attitude (at times), she can be one of the most devoted girlfriends in anime. She can be a bit clingy at times, but that is only because she is so devoted. Smart, elegant, and loving, she is unforgettable! Unless you have amnesia like her boyfriend Banri. She is a major reason why Golden Time ranks in at number five as the best romance anime of all time .
Whether in Karakura Town or in the Soul Society, Inoue Orihihime of Bleach has always been the talk of the town for her beauty. She is an optimistic and caring girl whose naïveté can hide her intelligence and strong perceptive skills. She has a very active imagination and can get carried away with ideas. Because of her unquestionable womanly charms, she is often the subject of jealousy among girls her age, as we witnessed in Hueco Mundo. But anyone who dares to leave her off a list of beautiful anime women would incur the wrath of a fanbase scattered all over different worlds like Earth, the Soul Society, and Hueco Mundo!
Landing at number 12 on this list is Nisekoi 's protagonist Chitoge Kirisaki. She is one of the youngest and most energetic characters on this list. She is unique in that she is half-American and grew up in the US. She can be forgetful at times and be quick to attack but she is very nice once she gets to know someone. She starts out as being rather cold due to having difficulty making friends but she eventually warms up. Only a person with the personality of a rock would fail to recognize Chitoge's beauty and charm (yes, I'm referring to you Raku Ichijou). Chitoge is high-spirited and often aggressive but is also sweet and caring. This memorable character is a big reason why Nisekoi is ranked as the fifth-best harem anime of all time .
All the characters on this list have a fairly wide range of personalities. The medium of anime
