A joint single with Iggy Azalea , “Pretty Girls” was originally written by the British group Little Mix to be a single for them, but they passed it on. Later, it was intended to be the lead single from Britney Spears' eighth studio album, but was scrapped. The single was released on May 4, 2015, and the official music video on May 13.
Lyrically, the song is about the unwanted pursuers that come with pretty girls and their beauty.
You definitely need a partner to sing (it with). It’s just a lot of fun. It’s a classic, girly (song) you want to scream to each other when you’re getting ready."
Spears on why she chose to work with Iggy:
I had called my manager (Larry Rudolph) and had some ideas about doing a Valley girl-type video. It was really kind of funny, because I had just watched Clueless on TV, and was like, ‘It would be so fun to do something like that.’ Then I saw Iggy’s video, and I thought, ‘Oh my God, to work with her would be heaven sent.’ "
We did “Pretty Girls” for ourselves originally. And then we were like, “Is this a bit much for a girl band to say how pretty they are? Maybe not”. So yeah, it ended up going to Britney Spears, which was kind of our first cut with another artist actually, so that was really big for us.

" Pretty Girls " is a song by American recording artist Britney Spears . It was released on May 5, 2015, by RCA Records . The song features additional vocals from award-winning rapper Iggy Azalea . [1] The song was co-written by British girlband, and winners of The X Factor UK, Little Mix. [2] It peaked at 26 on the Billboard Hot 100.

According to Azalea, the song was originally written for Spears, however, was handed to Azalea for her second studio album after delays with Spears' own album. However, the song was handed back to Spears as the album got back on track. [3]

The song features verses from both Spears and Azalea, with both artists featuring on the chorus. In an interview with MTV, Azalea stated that the chorus goes "back and forth" between herself and Spears, and described the song as a "powerhouse". [3]

The music video was co-directed by Azalea, and was filmed in April 2015. It was released on May 13, 2015, through Vevo and became VevoCertified with 100 million views on July 26, 2015. [4]

The song is catchy and fun. It brings you back to an 80's feel with an updated pop touch to it. It is not meant to be GREAT, but fun and that is what it does well. It is fun. Brit did a great job with the valley girl feel (video) and Iggy does well with her rap as well. I am more a Brit fan than an Iggy fan, but they worked well together in this.

Britney does it again! This is a song that will stick with you all day and you find yourself singing it out of the blue. Can't wait to hear more from her!!

I loved the movie Earth Girls Are Easy but this song wasn't my favorite Iggy or Britney song. I wish I liked the song better because the artwork/music video is awesome.

It's okay. The chorus gets on my nerve a little bit besides that an okay song.

I have repeatedly had to endure listening to this horrible song. It is only on my Amazon purchase list since I promised my 10-yr old daughter she could pick out several songs to download. I would rather listen to fingers on a chalkboard.
