At the media preview of the ‘K League 40th Anniversary Exhibition’ held at Times Square in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul on the 21st, there was a moment that made reporters tilt their heads. 

Right after the 1998 World Cup in France, there was talk of Ahn Jung-hwan, Lee Dong-gook, and Ko Jong-soo, the 'handsome men' troika' who led the K-League renaissance.

The exhibition expressed the 40-year history of the K-League as a ‘Universe’ and was divided into 13 areas, highlighting it in various ways.  먹튀검증

Among them, the HORIZON area lists photos along a 30-meter-long wall, allowing visitors to view the 40-year history of the K-League in order. 

The emblems of the winning teams for each year from 1983 to 2023 are engraved, and key photos from each period are placed along with photos from that time. 

A total of 83 incidents and 74 photos were inserted, many of which were provided by each media company's database. 

Sports Seoul provided the most photos, 30. And one of the photos that attracted attention was when Busan Daewoo's Ahn Jung-hwan and Pohang's Lee Dong-gook posed ahead of their match at the Asian Club Championships on February 11, 1999.

That year, Korean soccer shed tears in a crushing defeat, including a 0-5 loss to the Netherlands in the group stage of the World Cup in France. 

However, fans went to the K-League stadium, saying, 'Let's save Korean soccer.' In addition to Lee Dong-gook, who participated as a 'teenage player' during the French World Cup

Terius' Ahn Jung-hwan and 'genius midfielder' Ko Jong-su (then Suwon Samsung) were at the center of the league's success. He received tremendous attention not only for his outstanding talent

but also for his looks that stole the hearts of female fans. Gudeok Stadium in Busan, which was Ahn Jung-hwan's home stadium, was filled with fans, with chairs lined up all the way to the athletics track.

Thanks to them, the K-League exceeded 2 million spectators for the first time in 1998 and succeeded in attracting more spectators until the following year. 

However, Lee Dong-gook left for Germany and Ahn Jung-hwan left for Italy, ending the 'troika era' in the K-League.

One interesting thing is that despite their enormous presence, it is difficult to find 'three-shot' photos taken together. Won-seok Won, director of the Korea Football Association (KFA) and former editor-in-chief of Sports Seoul

who acted as an explainer for the work on this day, said, “In order to obtain photos from the early days of the league, we received film from media outlets and places that had not yet been converted into a database and went through the printing process,

and “Dong-guk Lee said, , Ahn Jung-hwan, and Ko Jong-soo are the figures who led the K-League renaissance, but I couldn’t find a photo of them together anywhere.

He said, “Several media outlets tried to prepare a project highlighting the three people together, but it seems that it wasn’t easy to recruit them at the same time. 

If you find their three shots, you’ll feel like you have a scoop,” he added.

This magazine, which has systematically maintained a photo database since its founding in 1985, also has a lot of 'troika' material

but only photos taken separately by Lee Dong-guk, Go Jong-su, Lee Dong-guk, and Ahn Jung-hwan remain.
