A social media video clip reportedly showing two students having sex in a Maryland high school classroom is under investigation by school officials and legal authorities.
The incident occurred in a classroom within Woodlawn High School, a school in the Baltimore County town of Gwynn Oak. Upon learning of the video, Principal Jamel Jernigan alerted parents in an October 8 letter. The letter has only recently been reported by local media.
"I was recently made aware of a social media post of a video involving Woodlawn High School students engaged in highly inappropriate behavior while in class," the letter said, according to WJZ-TV.
"An investigation is underway with school administration, our [Baltimore County Public Schools] safety manager and the Baltimore County Police Department," the letter continued.
Jernigan's letter didn't specify how many students were involved, their ages or the date of the incident. A student is believed to have recorded the incident, the aforementioned news outlet noted. It's also unclear if the alleged sex act or the reposting of the video constituted crimes.
The principal's letter did state, however, that students could be subject to possible disciplinary action if their behavior was found to be "inappropriate for the school environment."
The school has reportedly declined to comment on the case beyond acknowledging the existence of the principal's letter.
Newsweek contacted the Baltimore County Police Department for comment.
The recording and transfer of sexual content between teens have become more common as more teens own smartphones, the journal Pediatrics reported in May 2019.
At least 1 in 4 teens has received sexually explicit texts or emails, according to an April 2018 study published in the journal JAMA Pediatrics . Approximately 1 in 12 teens has forwarded sexual content to others without the consent of the sexual partners involved, the study added.
Sometimes sexual content is sent out to others as a form of cyberbullying known as "revenge porn." Revenge porn, which can originate from a former sexual partner or someone else who recorded other people's sex acts without their knowledge, is often meant to shame sexual partners.
U.S. state laws on teen sexting vary widely from state to state. The laws and their application depend on several factors. Those factors include the age of the people involved, the explicitly graphic nature of the content itself and how widely the content is shared.
Some states have decriminalized the production and sharing of teenage sexual content between teens, as long as the creation and sharing are consensual. Other states punish teen sexting as a misdemeanor charge or with felony child pornography charges.
Maryland has laws forbidding revenge porn, according to Cyberbulling.org. Maryland teens who engage in sexting can receive up to 20 years in prison and a lifetime sexual offender status for producing or possessing teen sexual content, the Pediatrics article noted.
"Interestingly, in these states, a teen sexter can be charged as both an offender and a victim," the article said.

Ladies, we all know that MOST of the time sex is completely unexpected. In a way, we all crave the confusion and chaos unplanned sex entails. Imagine that you’re with your boyfriend or girlfriend and everything is getting hot and heavy. You’re about to have sex and then… BAM! A flood of thoughts rushes through your head about what you forgot to do before getting intimate with your partner. Well, here are 6 foolproof tips on how to prepare yourself before you have sex.
1. Predict- The first most important rule before sex is to try to predict what will go on before, during and after your date. If you are anticipating sex you need to make sure what you need to wear, what you will be doing during the date and if you will even have sex afterwards. This key tip determines the whole outlook of your night.
2. Dress Accordingly- If you are going to have sex, you need to dress accordingly. You don’t want to wear an outfit that has tons of buttons and zippers. Easy access is truly the key. Depending on the location of your date, you want to dress for comfort and ease. Ladies, if you could barely put the outfit on how do you expect your lover to take it off? For example, if your partner were to come over to your place, or vice versa, a dressy top that shows cleavage and skinny jeans would be perfect. The dressy top will add that hint of formality to your date with a bit of sex appeal while skinny jeans will showcase your curves. This outfit leaves your partner imagining what they will be seeing later.
3. Be Natural- When you are having sex, men do not want to see their woman with pounds of makeup on. They want to see who YOU are, not a Maybelline advertisement. The perfect tip is to be as natural as possible. A light foundation set with powder, a little bronzer and light pink blush will leave you glowing while mascara, subtle eye liner and champagne eye shadow will add the perfect amount of sexy. And don’t forget about your hair. In general, guys like sex hair. They crave hair that they can slip their fingers through. The perfect tip is to create pre-sex hair. If you have long hair try creating long, billowy waves with a 3-inch barrel curling iron. Then flip your hair over, use your fingers to comb through it and spray with a light coating of hairspray infused with bamboo.
4. Be flirtatious- Let your partner know that you want to have sex tonight! Give them subtle hints that you are into them more than usual. Rub their hand sensually and slowly to keep prime physical contact. Let your eyes do the talking by simply smiling with them. If you are thinking dirty thoughts while looking at your partner they will pick up on your sexy vibe in an instant. Let your partner know that you want them by kissing them throughout the night.
5. Practice basic hygiene- Sex is all about physical contact. Therefore, you do not want your partner about to go down on you and begin to sniff with disgust because you “forgot to take a shower that day” or “you ate the fish at Applebee’s”. Ladies, your tool is your vagina and you need to keep it clean and smelling fresh! When you’re in the shower try using a Vagisil wash to cleanse your vagina. Then throughout the day or evening, bring a little baggie filled with cleansing wipes to leave you feeling clean and confident. A clean vagina makes everyone happy! Also, try putting on an extra amount of deodorant to prevent you from smelling, shaving your legs, and moisturize.
6. Have your bedside prepared- Last but not least preparing your nightstand drawer is an essential tip. Try stocking your drawer with condoms, spermicidal lubricant and edible sensual items. Try the Edible Body Icing in Midnight Chocolate and Kissable Whipped Body Cream by Victoria’s secret. These items would spice up any night.
I hope that these 6 tips will help you prepare to enjoy a passionate night with your special someone!

TULSA -- An explicit video showing young people in Tulsa having sex and fighting has been viewed more than 375,000 times on Facebook.
The three-minute long video montage posted Friday night was up on social media more than 36-hours on Facebook, even after it was reported.
Tulsa Police say even though the video was shared more than 3,500 times, they can only look into it if someone comes forward and files a police report.
"It's a shocking video for anyone to see," Officer Jeanne MacKenzie with the Tulsa Police Department said.
Young people were recorded having sex with several of their faces easily identified. Others were recorded getting beaten up. It was all compiled into one video, put to music and shared on Facebook.
The person who put the video together said all of the videos were sent in.
"If a person came forward saying, 'This is me. I got jumped,' or 'This is me and I didn't share this photo,' or 'Someone took this photo without my knowledge,' then we would have some type of crime," Officer MacKenzie said.
Officer MacKenzie said as of now, they have not determined that a crime was committed.
She said to determine if one had been committed, officers would have to see if the people were underage, intoxicated or if they gave consent.
"You can't have pictures of naked children, but trying to determine if those people in that video are children or not would be a hard task for us, because there are certain criteria we have to go by to determine whether or not they are a child," Officer MacKenzie said.
It is obvious some of the explicit videos were sent out on Snapchat.
"I've seen a lot of people say it goes away in 24 hours, but it still can be screen shot," Officer MacKenzie said. "Other people can see it."
The person who made and posted the video wrote on their page that people in the video were laughing it off.
"If that is true and everyone in that video gave her permission to post it, then that makes it legal," Officer MacKenzie said.
She said laws are changing to incorporate crimes on social media. But as it stands now, police departments cannot force someone to take a video down. People offended by the video just have to report it to the social media site.
"Just because we feel or think something someone has done is not moral, we can't do anything to them without a crime," Officer MacKenzie said.
More than 1,000 comments were posted to the video. Some said they were proud to be from Tulsa after watching it. Others wrote they were appalled and said to pray for children involved.
Officer MacKenzie cautioned parents to get involved in their children's social media accounts to monitor what they are doing.
"There are cameras everywhere," Officer MacKenzie said. "You might think you are doing something that no one will know or see, but the possibility of someone filming it or sharing are great nowadays."
Officers said if someone in the video is a minor or did not want their video published in the montage, they can contact police.
