Anyone who thinks they may be pregnant due to a missed period should take the test. It is important to know if you are pregnant to avoid harming the baby, and also so you can consider the next steps of pregnancy. Pregnancy tests are also sometimes required before the prescription of certain medications that have known serious side effects on embryos.

When should I use an ovulation test kit?

First, you must determine the length of your normal menstruation cycle, which could be anywhere between 20 to 45 days. The first day of your period is the beginning of the cycle and the end is the first day of your next period. If you have an irregular cycle length then take the average number of days. There is a chart inside the ovulation test kit that will allow you to determine which day you should start using the ovulation tests. It is not necessary to use the test at any particular time of day, although it is advised to test at a similar time each day. It is also recommended to reduce your liquid intake for two hours before the test.

Will the test tell me how far into my pregnancy I am?

No. The AccuQuik™ pregnancy test kit is a qualitative HCG test, providing a simple positive or negative pregnancy result. If you are pregnant then it is highly recommended to consult your doctor about the next steps in your pregnancy, during which the doctor will be able to inform you at what stage of pregnancy you are at.

What if I have been monitoring my ovulation for several months and I am still
not pregnant?

There are many environmental factors that influence the body’s ability to become pregnant. A normal, healthy couple will take on average 12 months to become pregnant, so do not worry if it isn’t happening immediately. If after several months you are having no success then there is no harm in consulting your doctor.

Where can I buy the HCG pregnancy and ovulation test kit?

AccuQuik™ pregnancy test kit can be purchased from any local retailer distributing the products. The pregnancy tests kit can also be provided for distribution following contact with our sales department.

Can I use the ovulation test as a form of contraception?

No, the ovulation test should not be used as a form of contraceptive. The test only shows a positive result 24-48 hours before ovulation, but sperm can survive in the female reproductive system for 3- 5 days. So if you have sex just before the ovulation detects the lutein surge it is possible that the egg could be fertilized by the sperm. On the other hand, for those who do not believe in contraception, the ovulation test could be used as a means of control against natural pregnancy, whilst being aware of the risk of falling pregnant.

What should I do if the line is faint?

Even the faintest line on the test strip/cassette indicates a result. The pregnancy test is designed to detect hCG in the sample, and the levels of HCG will vary depending on how many days have passed since the sperm fertilized the egg. So a faint line will indicate that you are only a few days pregnant. There is a small chance that a faint line could show when you are not pregnant, but this is due to a false positive.

What should I do if I think the pregnancy test is wrong?

If you get a negative/positive result, but you think it may be wrong, there are steps you can take to be sure of the result. Check the expiration date of the test and make sure you followed the instructions correctly. Next, reassess the timing of when you took the test, as you may have tested too early. Also, you may have consumed too many fluids diluting your urine causing the hCG levels to appear below the threshold. If any of these may have occurred it is recommended to take another pregnancy test 3 days later.

Can I use the pregnancy test kit at home?

AccuQuik™ diagnostic test kit for pregnancy and ovulation can be used at home or in hospitals and clinics.

Is AccuQuik™ pregnancy test kit 100% accurate?

The tests are not 100% accurate but are very close at 99%. Although the tests are very accurate, they are only a qualitative filter detector and should not be used as a final test. If the test is positive, it is recommended to consult a doctor for further testing to confirm the pregnancy.

What is the difference between the strip, cassette and midstream urine
pregnancy tests?

Both strip and cassette tests are simple diagnostic tools to determine whether a woman is pregnant. The basic components of each test are the same, but a cassette test is a more robust model of the strip test, consisting of a plastic rod device with a small well where the sample must contact the surface. The strip test is effectively an exposed version of the cassette test. Both the strip and cassette tests require a blood sample. The midstream urine test is simpler to use as it only requires the woman to urinate on the end of the stick, which can be performed at home.

Test: HCG Pregnancy Test and Ovulation Test
Specimen: Serum/Plasma, Whole Blood
Test Form: Cassette, Midstream, Strips
AccuQuik™ diagnostic test kit for pregnancy provides high quality early pregnancy detection. The pregnancy test kit detects the pregnancy hormone, human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG), in your urine or serum.
The test can be taken on the first day of your missing period. If you test too early then the hCG level in your urine may be too low to detect and could lead to a false negative. A result will be available after 3 to 5 minutes. Some medicines, such as fertility drugs which contain hCG, tranquilizers, anti-convulsants or hypnotics, may affect the result.
The AccuQuik™ pregnancy test kit is very sensitive with the hCG detection threshold at 10mlU/ml, allowing for 99% accuracy to be guaranteed. Our pregnancy test kit provides a simple positive or negative pregnancy result. In the case of a positive result, it is advised to consult your doctor to talk about the following steps.
AccuQuik™ promotes the use of the HCG pregnancy test kit.
AccuQuik™ ovulation test kit aims to identify your fertile window by predicting ovulation in advance, allowing for you to increase your chances of becoming pregnant naturally. The ovulation test measures the ovulation hormone, lutein (LH), which typically identifies 4 fertile days per cycle. This test detects an increase in luteinizing hormone, which normally occurs one to two days before ovulation. Once the ovulation test gives a positive result, the best time to have sex is three days later, as the first two days account for the days prior to ovulation.
The test is suitable for women with regular and irregular cycles. The test will take roughly 10 minutes to produce the result. The ovulation diagnostic tests have been shown to be accurate in 99% of cases, clearly demonstrating their reliability.
Most common drugs will not affect the ovulation test, however, drugs containing human gonadotrophin or lutein may affect the results. Other factors that may create an inaccurate result include a current pregnancy, a recent pregnancy, or menopause.

To ensure a healthy pregnancy it is essential that you visit your doctor as soon as you know you are pregnant so that you can begin caring for your baby. During your first visit to the doctor, you will discuss prenatal care and you will be screened for certain conditions that could lead to complications during your pregnancy.
Diet is one of the most important things to consider. A healthy and balanced diet can be easily achieved by eating a variety of fruits and vegetables. For those affected by medical conditions or ethical beliefs, it is recommended to consult your doctor for specific dietary advice.
You must also remember that you are now eating for two, so you will need to increase your daily calorie intake by at least 300 calories. It is also important to consider the amount of healthy weight that should be gained during pregnancy. Weight gain will vary between individuals, and is partly due to the related weight of the baby and growing placenta but also includes the extra fluid required for circulation and the weight needed for the nutrition of the growing fetus.
In addition to simply eating more food, pregnant women should raise the protein content of their diet from 45g a day to 70g a day. Although it is not necessary to consume any more calcium than normal, it is extremely important that the recommended calcium daily intake is now met.
Vitamins are essential during pregnancy, in particular, folic acid and iron which will reduce the risks of neural tube birth defects like spina bifida. If possible, folic acid intake should be increased before conception. An increase in iron consumption is particularly important during the 2nd and 3rd trimester. There are also several food products that should be avoided during pregnancy such as undercooked meat, unpasteurized dairy products, raw seafood, cold deli meats and certain fish with high mercury content.
Exercise is a great way to stay healthy during pregnancy, in addition to relieving stress and increasing serotonin production during pregnancy. It is also necessary for pregnant women to have the strength and endurance to carry the weight of the baby and for the physical requirements of labor.
Sexual activity can be continued as normal throughout pregnancy, although research suggests that both sexual desire and frequency decreases during pregnancy. A healthy and sustained sleeping pattern should be established during pregnancy, avoiding shift work and exposure to bright light at night during the last trimester. Having said this, rest is equally as important as exercise, especially during the 1st and 3rd trimesters when your body will show signs telling you to slow down. Relaxation techniques such as yoga, stretching, deep breathing and massages will be very beneficial.
During pregnancy you should not drink alcohol or take drugs as these substances are transported readily through the placenta and can cause serious harm to the baby, increasing the risk of miscarriage significantly. Other side effects of alcohol or drug use during pregnancy include decreased birth weight, learning problems, increased aggression, growth restriction, premature delivery, placental abruption, and other behavioral defects. Additionally, smoking can be harmful to the unborn baby, increasing the likelihood of a cleft lip.
Caffeine consumption should also be reduced to below 200mg a day as it has been shown to increase the risk of miscarriage and has no nutritive value. Ideally, caffeine should be completely removed from your diet as it is a stimulant and will make relaxing more difficult. Caffeine can also cause headaches and reduces iron absorption. Pregnant women are recommended to check the caffeine content of food products. Medication taken during pregnancy can temporarily or permanently affect the growing fetus, and it is therefore normal for doctors to refrain from prescribing drugs to pregnant women. In particular, it is the teratogenic effects of drugs that are of major concern to doctors regarding the fetus.
