or F.A.P, which is just so perfect I could cry.

Hey everyone,

As some of you are no doubt aware I'm making a Furry platforming game in my spare time, and have gotten to the point of confidence and ease with it now that I can start putting up regular updates and letting people know its in development without freaking myself out too much about whether I will/won't make it xD

So I thought I'd make a journal I could point people toward if they wanted some basic information on the game like what it's about, how the mechanics are planned to work etc. So here we go!

Predation is set in a semi-futuristic world that contains a Zootopia-esque collection of different anthro species living together in the city of Creekfield; your typical sort of furry backdrop to this kind of thing, I'm sure you can imagine. One day our hero, the purple haired Wolf named Amber, had finished work at the local cinema and was out for a night of clubbing with her friends; the evening goes well, and after a quiet drink as a wind-down she decides to hop on the subway and make her way back home. However as she makes her way down the steps to the platform a small earthquake rattles the ground around her, and as she passes through the archway to the empty cavern of a room beyond, a Quarantine bulkhead slams down behind her...

In this world there's a larger prevalence of inter-species diseases, as well as an alarming increase in the number and sophistication of methods used to disperse harmful chemicals for criminal or terrorist purposes. Luckily for the citizens of Creekfield, the Quarantine Response Department is on hand to lock down and clear up any bio-terror threats the city may come under. And so the waiting begins for the routine sweep of masked Q.R.D troops taking blood samples and running their strange scanners over people before either nodding and turning to the next soul or asking them to come quietly and without breathing through their mouth.

It appears to be taking them an awfully long time to reach her though, especially considering their average response is closer to 3 minutes than the 30 she's since spent on this empty platform...

That's the rough intro which I'll be expanding on with the game itself, using drawings for the story progression in a Max Payne 1 sort of a way.

The game will (hopefully) play much like a Streets Of Rage style beat-em-up with some platforming elements thrown in to give it a bit of a puzzle aspect to it; players will be able to fight the hordes of hormonally imbalanced creatures bare handed or with a limited use weapon like a bat or a chain or what-have-you, and will be able to climb, swim, crawl, etc.
Fighting bare handed will be the default, so I've got planned out some combos and different buttons for punching and kicking respectively to make it a bit more variable, plus throws and grapples at some point too.

Which leads me nicely to the Adult part of this game: That was no earthquake as you've probably guessed by now, but an air dispersal bomb containing an airborne virus that dramatically alters the brain chemistry of whomever inhales enough of it, turning them into beings with a complete lack of impulse control and a hugely amped testosterone influx. If you've seen Firefly, think Reavers without the nastier aspects.

As such Amber will be forced to fight off the advances of the parts of the populace that have inhaled too much of the substance to be reasoned with, and perhaps even parts that are willing to take advantage of the ensuing chaos; when an enemy sees Amber there's a chance they'll attempt to grab her and initiate a 'grapple' style of move, whereby they'll attempt to copulate with the poor wolf until the player can successfully shake them off with either a struggle meter or a combination puzzle, I've not decided yet. Perhaps both!
While the grapple is underway, Amber's stamina will decrease while her 'pleasure' meter increases; the amount of which depends on what exactly is happening to her at the time and will be balanced accordingly.

Once Amber's pleasure meter has maxed out, she'll climax; at that point, depending on her health or whether she has been recently injected with 'foreign material' if you catch my drift, Amber will too become infected and the game will be over. This is where a bit of strategy comes into the combat; when fighting males it will generally be easier to resist, as the pleasure meter will not raise as quickly what with them only really focused on blowing their own load, whereas females will perform moves designed to make Amber climax quicker, as the combination of having infected sperm within the body and orgasming will instantly turn the victim. Neither one is enough on their own, but combined the two result in a game over. Also any successful climax either by amber or an enemy will take off a portion of Amber's health, so there's that to consider.

Luckily the Q.R.D have a measure in place against this insidious disease, in the form of an Auto-injecting inoculation that has become commonplace in first aid stations around the city; one pump of that into Amber's thigh and the effects of any recent fun will be nullified!
The same can be done by visiting 'safe houses' scattered throughout the game; these are specially designated Quarantine shelters that contain food, first aid supplies, a bed and a shower for all your needs. This will also be where you can save the game, though I can't say I ever liked not being able quick save in a game so I'll probably put that in too! They'll simply break up areas and provide good bookends for scenes and levels while giving you a shower to become uninfected, a bed to restore stats and a save point for those who want to challenge themselves to do it old school.

So there it is so far, in broad terms; I hope this answers a few questions that you may have about my little project, but if there's any clarification you need or questions still to be asked please don't hesitate to, I'll answer your question and then update the journal to reflect that so others can see for themselves ^^
