Its actually illegal in Russia to call it a war.
They're not going directly to the fronts. This wave of mobilization will only be noticeable on the front lines in 4-6 months. Putin should have done this from the start, it will be over in half a year.
Did you not pay attention to the actual speech or did you get your info from a selectively edited "news" site. In the speech Vladmir Putin gave, he said that it will be people who are in reserves who already have the proper training.
