Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Portuguese Language Specialist. The specialist will handle end-to-end Portuguese language tasks, including translating written materials, localizing content for different markets, and providing language quality assurance. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting meaning and context between Portuguese and other languages, refining written content for clarity and tone, and supporting communication between internal teams and external partners. The role also involves collaborating with product, operations, and AI teams to ensure language outputs are accurate, culturally appropriate, and aligned with OWOW’s trust and quality standards.
Qualifications
* Strong skills in Translation and Language Services, with demonstrated experience working between Portuguese and at least one other language.
* Proficiency in Interpreting, including the ability to convey meaning and nuance accurately in spoken or real-time communication.
* Excellent Writing skills in Portuguese, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and culturally relevant content.
* Effective Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate across remote, cross-functional, and multicultural teams.
* Native or near-native proficiency in Portuguese and strong command of English.
* Prior experience in localization, content review, or linguistic QA is highly beneficial.
* Familiarity with AI tools, CAT tools, or other language technologies is a plus.
* Bachelor’s degree in Languages, Translation, Linguistics, Communication, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Demonstrated attention to detail, reliability in meeting deadlines, and comfort working in a fully remote environment.
