A tenth of 12 to 13-year-olds fear they are "addicted" to pornography, an NSPCC ChildLine survey has concluded .
One in five of nearly 700 youngsters surveyed said they had seen pornographic images that had shocked or upset them, researchers found .
The charity also says that 12% of those surveyed said they had taken part in, or had made, a sexually explicit video .
It says that viewing porn is "a part of everyday life" for many of the children who contact its helpline .
ChildLine has launched a campaign to raise awareness and provide advice to young people about the harmful implications of an over exposure to porn following the survey results .
One boy under the age of 15 told ChildLine that he was "always watching porn, and some of it is quite aggressive" .
He said: "I didn't think it was affecting me at first but I've started to view girls a bit differently recently and it's making me worried .
"I would like to get married in the future but I'm scared it might never happen if I carry on thinking about girls the way I do ."
A girl, who is now 17, told the BBC that she was sexually assaulted by her boyfriend when they were both 12 years old .
"He thought it was OK on some level," she said .
"Pornography isn't just a 10-minute video - it has consequences ."
The ChildLine Fight Against Porn Zombies (FAPZ) campaign uses a series of animations looking at the implications of overexposure to porn for boys and girls .
The animations link to a range of information and advice to help young people understand the effects of replicating pornographic content in real life and to protect them from putting themselves at risk .
Peter Liver, director of ChildLine, said that it was important to talk openly about the issue .
"Children of all ages today have easy access to a wide range of pornography," he said . "If we as a society shy away from talking about this issue, we are failing the thousands of young people it is affecting .
"We know from the young people who contact ChildLine that viewing porn is a part of everyday life, and our poll shows that one in five 12 to 13-year-olds thinks that watching porn is normal behaviour .
"They tell ChildLine that watching porn is making them feel depressed, giving them body image issues, and making them feel pressured to engage in sexual acts they're not ready for ."
He welcomed the announcement last week of plans to teach children from the age of 11 about rape and sexual consent as part of personal, social and health education (PSHE) in schools .
"Our campaign clearly complements this proposal," he said .
"Across society, we need to remove the embarrassment and shame that exists around talking about porn - which is why we are launching this activity and helping young people to make more informed choices ."
Dame Esther Rantzen, ChildLine's founder, said it was shocking that children as young as 11 are approaching the helpline with concerns about pornography .
"Young people are turning to the internet to learn about sex and relationships," she said .
"We know they are frequently stumbling across porn, often unintentionally, and they are telling us very clearly that this is having a damaging and upsetting effect on them .
"Girls in particular have said they feel like they have to look and behave like porn stars to be liked by boys ."
Dame Esther said that improved education was vital .
"We absolutely have to talk to young people about sex, love, respect and consent as soon as we feel they are ready, to ensure that they gain a proper perspective between real-life relationships and the fantasy world of porn," she said .

В соцсетях обсуждается онлайн-скандал, имеющий прямое отношение к защите прав детей . Восьмилетняя киевлянка Милана Маханец — модель и блогер, сообщила о том, что у нее "роман" с другим блогером, 13-летним Пашей Пэлом .

Причем "отношения пары" длятся уже довольно давно . Просто основная аудитория обоих малолетних блогеров сосредоточена в соцсети Likee, которая ориентирована на аудиторию подростков и потому развитие "романа" долгое время оставалось незамеченным пользователями прочих соцсетей .
В "сториз" и постах в соцсетях оба юных блогера сообщают, что у них отношения и демонстрируют, что живут вместе, или, по крайней мере, делают совместные фотосессии в домашней обстановке . Подписи к снимкам довольно провокационные . Например: "Задайте мне вопрос: Вы с Пашей спите вместе?"
На одной из фотографий мальчик и девочка в ванной (она — в леопардовом купальнике, он — с зубной щеткой) . На другом — слились в поцелуе… Характер фотографий и подписей вызвал негодование у украинских комментаторов . Многие увидели в этих фотосессиях намеки на педофилию, развращение малолетних, ну а как минимум — на не очень хорошее воздействие на психику самих героев "лав-стори" .
В Likee у Миланы Маханец более 6 миллионов подписчиков . У Паши – около полумиллиона . Причем их количество возросло после объявления о их "романе" . В Instagram они также продвигают свои блоги – у Паши более 30 тысяч подписчиков, у Миланы – около полумиллиона . Мать Миланы, Дарья, также зарегистрирована в Instagram . И у нее, и у ее дочери закрыта возможность комментировать .
Про Пашу информации в Сети мало . Известно, что у него есть брат, и свой блог в Instagram он начал вести в 2019 году .
Милана – профессиональная модель, нередко участвует в фотосессиях и в модных показах на детских неделях моды . У нее есть профиль в агентстве моделей Silvestroff Studio, где сказано, что ей 8 лет и 5 месяцев, а опыт съемок "очень большой" .
В прошлом году девочка давала интервью KIDS MODE MAGAZINE, который позиционирует себя как "Международный глянцевый журнал о детской моде" . Она сообщила, что сейчас ее цель — получить еще больше подписчиков на Likee и в Instagram, живут они вдвоем с мамой, которая поддерживает ее во всех начинаниях . Вести страницы в соцсетях девочка начала еще в пять лет . Окончила три модельные школы в Киеве . Посещает ли Милана школу сейчас – неизвестно .
Благодаря многочисленным геотегам к фотографиям обоих детей, пользователи сначала решили, что Паша родом из Москвы, но это не так . И он, и Милана просто часто бывают в РФ . Но, если верить старым постам, они с Миланой практически соседи – она с матерью и отцом ранее проживала в Ирпене, он – в Буче, оба города находятся в Киевской области . Паша школу посещает, некоторые посты комментировала его одноклассница .
После того, как сообщения о "романе" несовершеннолетних разошлись по Сети, мать Миланы сообщила, что детей никто не заставляет демонстрировать романтические отношения . Более того, женщина заявила, что "у них действительно любовь" и "они сами разберутся" .
А на 14 февраля Дарья Маханец арендовала отдельную квартиру, чтобы сделать там фотосессию для своей дочери и ее "бойфренда" .
В Facebook пользователи уже обратились в Нацполицию, а также к Николаю Кулебе, уполномоченному президента Украины по правам детей — официального ответа от него пока не последовало . Однако в комментариях под постом бывшей советницы министра социальной политики Украины Татьяны Луповой, в котором она отмечала , что есть "дело для ювенальной юстиции", Николай Кулеба сообщил, что уже обратился куда следует .
Прочие пользователи соцсетей отметили, что мать 8-летней Миланы "сексуализирует своего ребенка за деньги", и, кроме несовершеннолетних поклонников, ставящих "лайки" под постами девочки, могут быть и педофилы . А сейчас, когда маленькой девочке создают некий "онлайн-роман", то делом должна "заинтересоваться Нацполиция" .
Согласно УК Украины, статьи от 152 до 156 включительно предусматривают наказание за развращение малолетних, не достигнувших 16-летнего возраста, однако в том случае, если сексуальными действиями по отношению к ребенку занималась совершеннолетняя особа . В случае с Миланой и Пашей – они оба несовершеннолетние .
Юрист Анна Маляр написала в соцсетях, что оценить подобный контент должна экспертиза в рамках уголовного производства, которое еще нужно открыть . А пока речь идет скорей о моральной ответственности родителей детей, вовлеченных в подобные отношения .
"Без экспертизы в рамках уголовного производства эти фото не будем называть развращением, которое совершают родители по отношению к детям, потому что без экспертизы — это лишь частное мнение . В то же время, до экспертизы может и не дойти, ведь коррупция не пропускает к уголовной ответственности людей с деньгами . Поэтому я скажу о другом . Прежде всего, это посягательство на нормальное половое развитие детей, которые это смотрят и которые это изображают . Во-вторых, те, кто на этом зарабатывает, просто поймите, что вы это все сеете туда, где сами живете . Вам не удастся обойти этих плодов . Потому вы и ваши дети будут жить, учиться, создавать семью в той среде, в которой вы вот так сорите своим "педофильным искусством", — написала Маляр .
Кроме этого многие пользователи интересовались, как 8-летняя девочка может вести страницу в Instagram, если там отказывают в регистрации тем, кто младше 13-ти лет . Этот казус поясняла сама мать Миланы — Дарья Маханец . Это была ее страница, которую она, по ее же словам, "отдала" дочери, позже зарегистрировав еще одну, уже на себя .
Likee – это социальная сеть, пользователи которой могут создавать и распространять короткие музыкальные видеоклипы с возможностью добавления спецэффектов и дополненной реальности . Есть одноименные приложения для операционных систем Android и iOS . Приложение разработано сингапурской компанией Bigo .
Хотя сервис предназначен для пользователей старше 16 лет, значительную долю аудитории составляют дети от 5 до 12 лет .
По состоянию на 2020 год пользователей программы больше всего было зарегистрировано в Индии, России, США и Индонезии . Аудитория Likee составляет более 8 миллионов пользователей . Сервис критикуют за слабую модерацию . Так на американском сайте Common Sense Media родители упоминали , что все данные пользователей находятся в открытом доступе, также там есть детское порно и были зафиксированы случаи, когда взрослые мужчины переписывались с юными девочками . Жалобы в администрацию ни к чему не привели: аккаунты педофилов не были ни удалены, ни забанены .

A Louisville man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly pretended to be an 11-year-old on Instagram to seek sex with minors in Australia .
Shaun Douglas Dickson, 23, used the persona of an 11-year-old girl to communicate via Instagram with several female minors in Australia, according to Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear's office .
Cyber investigators found Dickson directed one of the girls, an 8-year-old, to send nude images of herself and threatened her when she would not send him more images, according to Beshear's office .
Dickson allegedly sent the nude images to other individuals .
After obtaining a warrant to search Dickson's home, investigators seized several devices, some of them containing the images of the 8-year-old girl, Beshear's office said .
Dickson was charged Friday by Beshear's office with four felony counts:
Possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor
Distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor
Prohibited use of an electronic communications device to procure a minor for a sex offense
Use of a minor under 16 years old in a sexual performance
At the time of this week's arrest, Dickson was on house arrest and awaiting a May trial on similar charges .
He had been ordered to not possess the devices found this week as part of the home incarceration program, according to Beshear's office .
Beshear's office previously arrested Dickson in November 2017 following a three-month investigation that began with a tip from police in Athens, Greece, regarding sexually explicit conversations and images between a minor and the Louisville resident .
The investigation revealed Dickson had allegedly been communicating with the minor via Skype and sending sexually explicit images .
Beshear said his case against Dickson is ongoing and could turn up more victims .
Louisville Metro Police, Metro Corrections HIP Unit, Homeland Security agents and police in Queensland, Australia, assisted Beshear's office with the latest case .
"The internet is becoming an increasingly dangerous place for our children," Beshear said . "Computers, cellphones, tablets and game apps can be the conduit for sexual predators to communicate with and quite possibly harm our children ."
Dickson is being held in Louisville Metro Corrections .
During an arraignment hearing Friday, a judge set his bond at $250,000 and ordered him to not use computers, internet devices, social media or have any contact with minor children .
Dickson's next court appearance is scheduled for March 11 .
