The 50-year-old woman told police in South Africa that her son raped her, according to reports
A son allegedly raped his own mother as she walked back from the pub, according to reports.
The suspected rapist stands accused of dragging his mum off the road and committing the horrific crime in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, on Friday.
He is suspected of setting upon his 50-year-old mum as she walked home from a tavern in Mboya VIllage, Willowvale, at around 7pm.
Police spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha reportedly said: "She was on her way home. The victim felt some footsteps from behind. She continued walking until the person from behind grabbed her.
"She was dragged far from the road and the suspect accosted her. She was then raped by the suspect.
"Butterworth Cluster Commander Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu strongly condemned the alleged rape of the victim especially by the suspect who was supposed to protect her as his mother."
The mother reportedly identified her own son as the man who allegedly raped her, according to News 24 .
The suspect is due to appear in court on a charge of rape today.
Some news sites report the man's age as 28, although others state he is 29.

A MUM has relived the terrifying moment she was raped by her son’s best friend.
Carlyn Thompson had known Gregory Houslin since he was 14-years-old - thinking of him as a "polite, typical teenage boy".
But in one night, the now 58-year-old woman's life was almost ruined by sick Houslin.
Bravely waiving her anonymity, Carlyn has now opened up about she was attacked in her own home after she made him a cup of tea.
Carlyn said: "I’d known Gregory since he was a little boy and never thought he was capable of this."
The mother said her sons Matthew and Dan Thompson had brought their pal home after school in 1996.
She said: "When I met Gregory he was polite and seemed like a typical teenage boy.
"After that, whenever I came home from work, Gregory was always upstairs with my sons, listening to music and playing games.
"He’d always greet me and talk about how school was going."
And while Carlyn's sons moved on, Houslin would visit her every so often over the years.
It was during one of these visits, in January 2005, that Houslin appeared at her door.
She said: "I was delighted to see him and made us a cup of tea."
The pair spoke for a few hours at her home, with Carlyn suddenly realising how late it had got.
She said: "I opened the front door for him, expecting him to leave.
"But he told me he wasn’t going anywhere and insisted on staying."
Concerned, Caryln called for her son Matthew, who was living across the road at the time, but he wasn't home.
Then out of the blue, Houslin grabbed her.
She said: "Out of nowhere, Gregory gripped me by my arms and pulled me onto the sofa.
"I was in complete shock and began to scream.
"I was still holding my phone so I dialled 999, but I dropped it before I could find the call button.
"Then, Gregory ripped my trousers and underwear off.
"I prayed that my neighbour was home, so I screamed at the top of my lungs ‘I’m being raped! Help me!’ but no one came."

Finally escaping after the ordeal, Carlyn ran into the bathroom and called the police.
But chillingly, he hadn't left the house.
Carlyn said: "After I got off the phone, Gregory appeared behind me and smiled at me in the mirror. I was paralysed with fear.
"He didn’t say anything, he just kept smiling."
It was then that police arrived, with Carlyn running outside - collapsing into the arms of a female police officer.
Gregory was arrested by officers and charged with rape.
In September 2005, Gregory Houslin, now 38, of Watford, was found guilty of one count of rape at St Albans Crown Court.
He was jailed for five and a half years.
But she said the trial had been a harrowing experience, with Houslin claiming she had been flirting with him and the sex was consensual.
She said: "When he was found guilty I cried in relief".
Yet the ordeal wasn't over, with Houslin released a few years early.
And he even walked into a cafe when Carlyn was with her son - leaving the mother in shock.
Carlyn now lives in Scotland near her parents.
And while struggling with the attack, Carlyn said she now wanted others to know there was light at the end of the tunnel.
She said: "Now, I’m finally coming to terms with what happened and I feel a lot stronger.
"I’m sharing my story to encourage other women to report their attackers too.
"Although it’s extremely hard, please pick up the phone and get the justice you deserve.”
