Believe it or not, back in the freewheeling days of the '90s, you couldn't just find porn anywhere you wanted on the Internet in a matter of seconds. Back in those days, you had to go out in public to seek it out or, at the very least, pay the money for some sort of premium cable network. That was back in the early days of HBO, when raunchy shows like Taxicab Confessions , Real Sex , Cathouse , and specials starring adult film star Katie Morgan were not so easily available.
But, as the L.A. Times reports , HBO has removed all of its erotic adult movies and TV shows from its channels and streaming services.
“Over the past several years HBO has been winding down its late-night adult fare,” an HBO representative told the L.A. Times . “While we’re greatly ramping up our other original program offerings, there hasn’t been a strong demand for this kind of adult programming, perhaps because it’s easily available elsewhere.”
It makes sense, especially when people would probably give up porn for a year just to see the final season of Game of Thrones right now.
As the Times reports, the adult programming on HBO originated in the early '90s, before it had become a home to prestige TV shows like The Sopranos . Since then, as HBO became a part of AT&T after the acquisition of Time Warner Inc., the adult content is not "a favorite of the new, strait-laced owners."
The Times also points out that porn is very popular and also very easy to find on the Internet.
RIP Cathouse . Now HBO subscribers will just have to watch The Deuce —a TV show about porn.

Beach Rats has an abundance of candid nudity; Hittman’s camera makes the most of Dickinson’s astonishing physique.
The sequel is about as beefy and well-oiled as its predecessor. Three years after retiring, Mike joins his boys for stripper convention in Myrtle Beach. XXL adds a game Jada Pinkett Smith , and like its predecessor was a critical and commercial hit.
Roger Vadim 's erotic drama about a sexually liberated orphan wasn't the first film to star Brigitte Bardot , but it's the one that made her a household name of the time, a defining "sex kitten." Without explicit nudity (verboten at the time), And God Created Woman was so controversial enough in its day that law enforcement crashed some stateside screenings. Despite middling reviews, the forbidden fruit was a box-office smash.

Leave it to Guillermo del Toro to craft the most bloody brilliant pure film noir in ages. Nightmare Alley is lurid and pulpy—with no intention of transcending its genre. That’s probably a strength.

It premiered at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, where it competed for the Palme d'Or.
Pedro Almodóvar 's uncanny blend of romantic comedy and horror movie was so controversial in its day it went to court. Miramax sued the MPAA for slapping Tie Me Up! with an X rating (generally reserved for porn). Tie Me Up! was released unrated and still grossed a considerable sum for a foreign film, and one year later the NC-17 rating debuted.
Andrew Haigh 's subtle, insightful look at three gay BFFs in the Bay Area was just on the cusp of greatness when it was canceled after two seasons. HBO at least greenlit a two-hour special event to tie up loose ends—too neatly, in fact. Looking still has a dedicated fanbase; maybe one day down the line we'll get an HBO Max revival. Such a thing seems more possible than ever in light of the recently-announced Sex and the City revival series.

Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas starred in Paul Verhoeven 's iconic 1992 chiller about a dupe who falls for a murderous bombshell. The long-delayed sequel ups the sleaze, downs the already-low IQ, but it's a nudity-filled thimble-brained, violent good time if you're in the right mood.
Pre-game for And Just Like That ... with the highly lucrative big-screen adventures of NYC's fab four. Both films were mammoth box-office hits, even though the second received harsh reviews from critics. And Just Like That finishes a 10-episode run February 3.
