What is the best torrent search engine? You may have this question in your mind if you want to download files using BitTorrent Protocol. Here, we’ll provide you with a list of the most popular torrent search engine websites that are the best among all.
But first, let’s try to understand what makes a website a better search engine for Torrents.
The simple answer to this question is:
A good torrent search engine website should always be accessible and have all the content that you can get from the torrent ecosystem.
The good thing about torrent is that it allows peer-to-peer file sharing without any restriction. However, this good thing becomes bad when spammers and pirated content get onto the platform. That is the reason, many countries have blocked many torrent websites after complaints
Keep in mind , that some websites may have been banned in your country for violating local laws. Our goal is just to tell you about the top torrent search engines for educational purposes. We advise you to use a VPN if you are going to visit them. The whole list is being shared for educational purposes only.
If any of the websites are not working for some reason, you can always look for proxy websites of torrent search engines.
Torrentz is one of the most powerful torrent search engines that index about 31,102,502 active torrents from 125,464,743 pages on 26 domains. It can be also called a meta-search engine.
A meta-search engine is one that searches data from other search engines as well. If you are looking for anything on the torrent, chances are that you won’t need to search anywhere else.
Despite being one of the best search engines for torrents, the website keeps changing its domain name. The reason behind this is to keep the website alive even where it is blocked.
AIO search is a bit different from all other search engines mentioned above. You can separately select the category of content before searching for it. It provides a dropdown select many for searching under a specific category.
Like all other popular torrent search engines, AIO search also indexes content from major torrent platforms like ThePirateBay, 1337x and KickAssTorrents, etc.
It also provides you an option to create an account to take advantage of advanced controls. Apart from the website, AIO search also has a search cloud, firefox toolbar, and google chrome extension for faster access.
Zooqle doesn’t look like a torrent search engine. The website is designed in such a way that it looks more like a content portal. However, it indexes all the major torrent websites and you can almost search every file here.
As of now, if you believe its stats, Zooqle has about 5,847,953 verified torrents, 1,775 TV shows (209 K episodes), 48 K movies, 10.1 PB of data in 73.6 M files. and 2,305 trackers supporting 67 M scrapes.
The stats suggest that Zooqle is one of the most popular search engines for downloading torrents. And its look makes it less creepy and without annoying advertisements.
Torrends search engine provides you the ability to search torrents on dozens of torrent sites including 1337x, The pirate bay, RARBG, and its alternative . It indexes content from torrent proxy websites as well.
Torrent Proxy websites are alternatives to websites that are either shut down or banned. Apart from its search feature, the website hosts a list of about 100+ top torrent websites under various categories.
Torrends also provides a list of working trackers that can help you download faster. If you want to know more about the trackers, you can read our article on the Seeders, Leechers, and Trackers in Torrent terminology.
iDope is one of the oldest and popular torrent search engines. It indexes all the content from major torrent platforms and provides one-click access to them. Apart from the website, iDope also has its own Android app and various browser extensions for easy access.
Despite being Old, its domain name hasn’t been changed since 2016, which is a good thing for any Torrent website (Pun Intended). iDope website’s homepage also provides a link to the most recent and most popular torrent files right now.
Snowfl is a very simple but powerful torrent search engine. The best thing about this search engine is, that it has very less ads. You can avoid the most annoying experience of visiting any torrent website because of fewer Ads.
This search engine digs into the world of Torrent files and brings you the most ideal result that you are looking for. Snowfl is one of the safest search engines for Torrent because it complies with all the policies of DMCA.
Its less ads experience makes it a more family-friendly website (Because many search engines show some really nasty ads)
If you are seeking for latest torrents from the sea of torrent websites, Torrentseeker deserves to be on your bookmark list. The search engine frequently updates its index with the most popular torrent files, latest torrent proxy sites, and small niche and language-specific torrent sites.
It crawls the results from popular blocked and unblocked Torrent websites such as The Pirate Bay, RARBG, 1337x, YTS, EZTV, Kickass Torrents, and torrent proxy sites. Its home page is fast simple and ad-free.
Torrent can be a great way for downloading academies related content. AcademicTorrents just do that. It is a popular search engine for searching torrents related to academies. The website is completely legal and used by many top universities across the world.
It has about 83TB of research data available on the website using its search database. It has a distributed system for sharing enormous datasets uploaded by the researchers for the researchers.
As its name suggests, this search engine solely exists for downloading torrents and nothing else. You can download many TV shows, movies, videos, games, apps, and other files that are otherwise available on popular torrent websites.
The website respects your privacy and does not log anything into their database. It is a meta-search engine that crawls results from all major torrent search engines and platforms.
The website also lists the latest torrents under various categories on its homepage. You can either search or browse through the latest stuff.
The last one in our list is the least popular among all other search engines but not less powerful at all. xTorx indexes all the latest torrents from various websites and shows them with one-click access.
If you can ignore the one big ad on its homepage, xTorx is not a bad torrent search engine at all.
Torrent search engines are completely legal unless they host or link to any pirated content. Many torrent search engines got shut down because of this and are living through proxy websites. If you think we missed out on any popular search engine, don’t be lazy and let the world know in the comment section below.

Now over 15 years old, The Pirate Bay (Opens in a new window) (commonly abbreviated TPB) is still the most popular torrent site around—(at least in terms of Alexa ranking (Opens in a new window) . That means they have a lot of users and a wide selection of torrents. You can subscribe to RSS feeds for automatic downloading, see a ton of info about individual torrents, and read comments from other users who sometimes point out stuff that the description skips (not to mention call out fake torrents with malware). Plus, pink and green skull icons indicate trusted and VIP users, which can help verify a torrent’s worth. The Pirate Bay does not actually host torrent files anymore; instead, each entry contains a magnet link that you can click to open the download directly in your torrent client. It’s a little ad-heavy, and the pop-ups when you click on non-ad portions of the page are particularly annoying, but there’s a reason it’s still #1.

Take a look at 1337x (Opens in a new window) , and you might be surprised it’s a torrent search engine. It’s much better looking than its competitors, and while you can use it to search for individual torrents just as you can with any other engine, it also has “libraries” that let you browse a beautiful grid of thumbnails for movies and TV shows, complete with star ratings, descriptions, and a list of torrents related to that title. Individual torrents have their info laid out in an attractive tab-based interface that lets you see screenshots (if the torrent contains a video file), comments, and more. The constant ads and notification requests can be annoying, but the site itself is so well laid out that it may temper your anger enough to keep you coming back.

RARBG (Opens in a new window) may not be quite as attractive as 1337x, but it’s still decently organized as far as BitTorrent search engines go. When you search for something, you’ll get detailed results with icons that show you the torrent’s category, so you can easily see which results are what you’re looking for (say, movies) and which ones are unrelated (like music, or...other stuff). Clicking on a result shows related torrents, screenshots (if the torrent contains a video), and even a trailer and IMDB rating, when they exist. RARBG is generally best for new torrents, so if you’re looking for something old, obscure, or hard to find, it’s probably not your best bet. But for quality versions of recently uploaded torrents, RARBG is a good place to stop by, despite the occasional pop-up ad.

If you’re willing to jump through a few extra hoops, RuTracker (Opens in a new window) is a longtime torrent-sharing forum that is still quite popular among those in the know. However, most of the site is in Russian, which means you’ll have to use a page translation tool to find your way around. In addition, certain files may require an account for downloading, but it’s free and easy to sign up, and with an active community and heavy moderation, the selection is large without having quite as much malware and fake torrents as other sites. You should, however, take the same precautions you would with any other torrent site.

Zooqle (Opens in a new window) is newer than some of the other sites on this list, but it’s made a name for itself for its large selection, despite its youth. The home page boasts over 4.3 million verified torrents at the time of this writing. While it isn’t the prettiest site around, it does organize torrents well, making it easy to see what’s new, search by video quality, browse an entire series, or subscribe via RSS. It may not be most people’s first stop, but it’s definitely a site to watch, as it’s likely to grow in popularity.

It's an excellent idea to use a VPN service while BitTorrenting, so that your activity is not visible to your ISP. Which service should you use? Read our roundup of the Best VPNs for BitTorrent to find out.

To find something on the Web, you go to a search engine. To find a Torrent, you go to a specialized site. But which one? We give you the dirt on the best BitTorrent sites so that you can start downloading right away.
Sometimes, Google isn’t the best way to find what you want. If you’re looking to download something via BitTorrent , you’re better off using a search engine dedicated to finding, organizing, and downloading torrents. But there are a lot of torrent sites out there, with constantly changing names and URLs, so it can be hard to know where to start.
Many of these BitTorrent sites operate in shadier corners of the internet—which makes sense, since BitTorrent is heavily used for piracy and porn. But that means they’re often ugly, filled with ads, spied on by outside entities, and they may even include torrents with malware or other nefarious files. So do not treat these search engines like you would any other webpage—you need to be careful.
That said, as “public” sites, they also have a huge amount of active users, meaning you can probably find what you’re looking for, even if it’s obscure or hard to find through normal channels. (There are also private torrent sites with small, tight-knit communities you need to be invited to, but that’s a topic for another article.) If you’re going to browse public torrent sites, we highly recommend having a malware scanner with real-time protection, such as MalwareBytes Premium , which can help protect you from malicious ads and downloads. You should also have a good VPN if you want to hide your activity from prying eyes—or if any of these sites are blocked by your ISP, which does happen. Some BitTorrent clients may claim to offer built-in security, but we recommend using third-party software.
Keep in mind that these sites can change domains from time to time, so it’s always a good idea to check around the web and make sure your bookmarks are up to date.
Finally, note that PCMag does not condone piracy. If you use BitTorrent for sketchy purposes, you're on your own when it comes to dealing with whatever consequences there might be.

Attention : The Pirate Bay is blocked in many countries (even mirror sites), so you might need a VPN to change your virtual location and unblock The Pirate Bay .
The Pirate Bay has been a crowd favorite for many years and is widely regarded as one of the best torrent sites. It managed to deflect countless blocking attempts, and it’s still going strong with over 6.3 million monthly users on the main site. However, considering the number of mirrors, that number may be skewed and can go anywhere between 20 and 60 million.
We couldn’t find its library size, but it’s in the millions. You can expect download speeds of 5 to 6 MB/s , all other things being equal. Their torrents are often very well-seeded.
The Pirate Bay’s large community ensures at least one seeder on almost any torrent on the site, no matter the age. We were even able to download obscure titles from over a decade ago.
On top of all this, it’s got a clean interface and helpful tags that separate trusted sources from malicious uploaders.
Without a doubt, The Pirate Bay is the king of all torrent sites, and with almost no ad intrusion and an active community , it’s basically got no downsides.
Mirrors : pirateproxy.space, tpbpirateproxy.org/en, thepiratebay.rocks
P.S. If those mirrors don’t work, do a Google search for “the pirate bay mirrors” and you may find other options, especially on the second page of results. You can also look at our list of Pirate Bay alternatives if you’re looking for the best torrent sites.
