Howdy gang – I’ve had a lot of messages over the last few days from people that want me to review great adult games, so I figured I’d continue with my series by taking a look at a game called Super Deepthroat. This one seemed pretty damn good from the on-paper information that I had, but we all know that games are a lot more than just what they say on the tin. So, with that said, let’s go ahead and play Super Deepthroat – I’m going to tell you my thoughts and feelings on this one as well as give you my super-duper expert thoughts on whether the title is any good.
So loading up this game for the first time showed me a pretty good starter section. You’ve got the game name right at the top, alongside a Japanese translation, and then two buttons which say ‘Play’ and ‘Options’. I picked the second one since I want to make sure that everything is set up correctly and was pleased to see that you’ve got a bunch of things to tinker around with. It’s actually quite a complicated situation though, since most of the game is played via the options page. Let me break this down into little sections by first talking about the game: this is one of the few times that I’ll actually do this on a porn game review.
So the gaming aspect here really isn’t all that complicated to understand. You’ve got yourself a chick on her knees and she’s going to suck a dick – you control the pace and from time to time, the game will have preprogrammed outcomes where the chicks in question will pull back and have a few more lines of spit all over her. You’re actually somewhat limited here when it comes to ‘gameplay’, although this totally isn’t anything else, the interactive elements are all in the options, as opposed to actually going through any type of a story or a plot. I don’t mind this type of setup, but know what you’re getting yourself into: there’s zero development here, all you’re going to do is deep throat a sexy babe. This is when the options come into play – you’ll decide exactly how the throat fucking is approached, all via the menu I talked about before.
Okay, so now that we’ve got the function and structure of Super Deepthroat explained, let’s talk more about the options and whether or not I think they’re any good. This isn’t immediately obvious, so it’s always good to have a set of eyes from an expert like me talking you through it! I love great porn games and I’m thinking that maybe – just maybe – Super Deepthroat might be one of them.
So when we finally hit the ‘options’ button, we’ve got ourselves an insane amount of things to select from. Honestly folks, this has to be one of the most interactive scene setup experiences I’ve gone through – stellar to say the least. The first option you might want to consider is ‘auto’, which allows you to set the pace of the face fucking. There’s soft, normal and hard, as well as a ‘self’ option – I’m not sure what that does, so if you find out, be sure to let me know. The first big selection you’ll likely come across is the model – you can pick from dozens of ladies including Rei, Chun Li and Tifa. Yup: plenty of the girls are basically parody characters from loved gaming series and anime shows. Get it while it’s hot – copyright strikes might just be around the corner!
Other options that you can explore when playing Super Deepthroat include things like arm positions, resistance and that type of thing for the model – it also has a mood setting, which I guess changes the way that the girl reacts to the cock going down her throat. Speaking of cocks, it’s possible to have Super Deepthroat have a different shape and size of dick, as well as testicle stuff to boot. Even shoes, skin tone and other associated ideas can be fiddled with: it’s definitely refreshing to play a game that has so much customization. I’ve long been a believer that standard releases need to allow custom modding instead of selling DRM – this is a porn game that does exactly that!
If you hit the ‘help’ tab in the options menu, you’ll find that you have a bunch of hotkeys available to you for the purposes of fiddling around with the scene. One thing that I didn’t see was the option to go back to the main page, which would be quite cool. Hell, even just giving folks the ability to change the options during a scene gives a much better user experience. As for other criticisms, I’d say that the options menu disappearing when you take your mouse off of it is a bit of a pain in the butt – it actually made writing this review difficult! When I click an option box, I want it to stay open until I tell it to close. There’s no reason to have it any other way. Mr. Porn Geek doesn’t think these issues are huge, but if the developer reads this, he’s got some concrete direction on how to make Super Deepthroat into Super-Duper Deepthroat!
On the whole, I’d say that Super Deepthroat had a really good user experience. The game is quite fun, even though it’s more a simulation type title that I don’t enjoy as much as plot-focused, narrative games where you’re making decisions and being rewarded for high IQ. Still, plenty of guys are going to love Super Deepthroat – I’ve also linked to the updated version, which is slightly better than the original based on my observations.
