I actually received many Permanents as a child, not really as punishment but they were definitely "forced" or unwilling. I think the allure of this punishment stems from the "permanent" nature of this beauty treatment, i.e. there is no turning back! At least for me, one of the most "erotic" parts of a perm is when the solution is applied and you have crossed the point of no return. I have been visiting an older Beautician lately for perm rod sets and she has taken to teasing me about "going all the way" which gets my heart racing every time. During my last set a few weeks ago, she went so far as to add the cotton roll around my rods saying "I am going to go ahead and add the lotion this time." My emotions were soaring and I was resigned to my fate while she went to the back room to prepare the "lotion". I guess it must have been my small sobs and near tears reaction that caused her to have mercy on me and return with only a hair net saying "next time, we are going for the PERMANENT." The perm just embodies everything that I related to femininty from my youth, the look, the smell, the frequent visits to the Beauty Shop and the inability to "undo" the new style with a shampoo makes it a "threat" and therefore very appealing as a punishment. I know I have been a very bad gurl and would love a little perm punishment!

I used to spend a couple of weeks at my cousins house every summer. We were about 9 or ten years old at the time and my cousin pulled some of his liittle sisters sponge rollers out of her hair. My aunt was very angry I think it was more the straw that broke the camels back. She told him she was going to perm his hair. He started crying and all but the next day she bought a Toni perm and he sat crying during the whole process. His sister teased him the whole time. I was wishing it was me this was part of time I had short hair and I was very jealous. After the perm she set him on the pink sponge rollers he had pulled out of his sisters hair. He had to wear the rollers until the next day at lunch when she finally took them out. He was very curly and upset. I think my aunt just wanted to give him the perm and used the bad behaviour as an excuse. She new about my perms and sets but never told my cousin. I still remember the excitment I felt watching his punishment perm and set.

I wanted a perm as a kid so badly, and every day since being 3 or 4. That included getting it at a salon. That wonderful day just was not possible and did not come along until I was about nineteen.
It's many, many years later now. I still love every minute of receiving a perm. And when it's finished, I love wearing it to the max. Putting it out there for the ladies to see is my utopia.
And from any lady that might know me, whether its a sarcastic smile or a witting verbal comment, I love it all. I never seem to get much negative criticism but I suppose I would love that too.
Only wish my hair would be good for more than twice a year perming.

When I was a teenager (80's) perms were really "in" amongst many girls at my school but, only a few brave boys. I spent so many hours swooning over a cute girl with a brand new gorgeous curly perm. I wanted one so badly. But, not just the perm, I also wanted the feminine cut and style to go with it. Of course at that age I would have been totally embarrassed to be seen with such a look. I did eventually get several perms and loved them all. Even got called a "sissy" by a female co-worker once. I sooooo loved that!
On a side note, when I was 12-13 there was a neighbor boy who was only a year or two younger than me who had chin length really blonde hair. He was always thought to be a little odd by adults and kids alike in my neighborhood but, we still played together nonetheless. One day in the first week of summer vacation all the kids in the neighborhood were out playing when we saw this boy again. His fairly straight, chin length hair was now in piles and piles of corkscrew ringlets! He'd obviously been given a perm. I remember thinking his hair looked amazing but, I dared not say anything like that. In fact several of the kids really tormented him over his new curls. Word eventually got 'round to our mothers that the boy's mom had given him a home perm. Several of the ladies, including my mother even commented that they couldn't believe his mother would want her son to look so much like a girl. Little did she know!

as a young boy one of my chores was to help my sister set her hair.i had to brush her hair the then standard of one hundred strokes.then to hand her each roller and bobby pin.when I matured a bit I found that I could not stand up in front of her any longer.my pajamas were tenting.that is the moment I fell in love with hair rollers brushes.a perm for me would never be a punishment but total joy and happiness.when I got married I used to shampoo and dry my wife's hair.after some persuasion by me, I was permitted to set her hair on rollers.it was an incredibily erotic experience.after brushing her hair into the style I wanted I was allowed to use aqua net on her waves and curls.i will leave the rest to your imagination.

For the past 20 years, I fantasized about having a tight, curly, " punishment" perm. 6 months ago I took the plunge and had my first one. Now I'm on my second tight perm and have enjoyed every minute of it. My advice is to do them while you still can.

My first perm was in April 2017. It was was done on gray and white rods. My second perm was in October 2017 on mostly gray rods with a few white. My stylist is very supportive and has been taking care of my hair for many years. She didn't try to talk me out of a perm, but when I told her I wanted to "go curly", her immediate response was " Do you want a perm?". She was excited when I said yes. My next one will probably be in March. She has told me that she doesn't want to go tighter than gray and white on my long hair, but I'll try to talk her into gray and pink on a very tight spiral wrap.

rickhooper1 : Live your fantasy! If you don't want to commit to a perm, then at least get a water perm. You will experience the same sensations of having your hair rolled on perm rods but, it will wash out the first time you get your hair wet. Try it a few times and then maybe you will feel comfortable enough to just have it done.

Just go for it. I'm on my 4th perm now and love my tight curls. If you don't like it, you can cut it and start over.

This coming week I have my annual perm appointment. My last few perms were spiral perms. I also liked my results.
But the spiral perm just doesn't seem to either feel or look all that feminine as the traditional wrap perms. And also, the traditional wrap doesn't last as long leaving me with a sooner possible next perm appointment. I'm thinking about getting the traditional wrap perm again.
Any comments ?

I agree that spiral perms do not necessarily give feminine results. Although, I think hair looks fabulous wrapped in a spiral fashion.
You might ask your stylist for a ringlet perm. The roll up is different and the results (depending on the perm rod size) can be very feminine.
Your cut can have a lot to do with the finished look as well. If your hair is at least shoulder length, I would suggest having it cut in layers before your perm. A layered cut will result in better texture and varying lengths of curls.

I disagree that a spiral perm isn't as feminine looking as a "traditional" perm. Marcus is correct in suggesting that you have your hair cut into layers.
A spiral perm and a "traditional" perm last the same amount of time. But, with a spiral, as your hair grows out and the curls relax, it isn't as noticeable.
What is the downside of having to perm your hair more than once a year?

I always have a traditional perm done on pink and blue perm curlers. I have my hair permed every 8-10 weeks

I got my first perm when I was 13 at my aunts salon. After that I would get a perm every 3 to 4 months. Because my hair had some natural curl the re-perms would make my hair frizzy sometimes. The best perm were the ones I had done on my hair after I let the old perm grow completely out. I started working in my aunts salon the summer I turned 14. During that time I was working on my cosmo lic. my aunt had her instructors lic. The reps would come in all the time with new products they were selling. One of these products was an air neutralizing perm. This is where you have to leave your rods in for 24 hours after rinsing the perm solution. This was better for my hair type and the curl seemed to stay in better. Some of the customers would get this perm but most didn't want to leave or spend the night sleeping in rods. I had learned to sleep in rollers by this time so it didn't bother me.

I'm elated and totally happy with my perm. Its just about two weeks old now. And I did go with the traditional wrap. Mostly all pinkies. Next time around I may be wanting for some blues.
I got the tight curls I was craving. And in six months I can probably go for a partial, at least for the top.
And if I may say, as a spinoff of the real issue, the tight wrap actually felt like the old and real thing. Something if anyone is a cuckhold, sissy, submissive as me, something like that complete spanking you receive on occasion.
It hangs on a few days and you wish you could keep that sore little bottom forever. Your crimson red cheeks are only a gift from Mistress.

I should probably point out that I love the prime curls that come with the perm as well as after a roller set. In a lot of instances, I only roller set the top/front and a roller or two on the sides. Keeping the fresh like perm curls below looking original.
