Rome, Italy: Italian police launched a manhunt Thursday (Friday in Manila) after two Chinese women and a South American woman, all believed to be sex workers, were found dead in an upmarket Rome neighborhood.
The bodies of the two Chinese women were discovered at 11:00 a.m. in a residential building in the Prati district, while the South American was found in an apartment in the same neighborhood an hour later, police told Agence France-Presse.
All three were "probably sex workers", police said. The South American had suffered a fatal wound to the abdomen.
All three victims were stabbed, according to Italian media reports, leading the Messaggero and Repubblica dailies to warn of a possible "serial killer" on the loose in the capital.
The body of one of the Chinese women was spotted by a neighbor where it lay, naked on a landing. The woman, believed to be in her 40s, had suffered head and stomach injuries, the Corriere della Sera newspaper said.
When police entered her apartment, they found the body of a second Chinese woman, it said.
Nobody in the building appeared to have heard the murders take place, according to local residents.
"Everybody knew there was a house of ill repute here, I'd see people arriving at 02:00 a.m., 03:00 am," a woman who lived in the building told reporters.
The body of the Colombian, who was 65, was found by a friend, the Corriere della Sera said.
Police were examining the victims' phone records to determine whether there was a link between them.

Aligarh: In what would remind of OTT series ‘Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors’, a woman has approached the police with the complaint against her husband, claiming that he has been repeatedly subjecting her to unnatural sex, taking inspiration from porn videos.
The aggrieved woman has approached Aligarh SSP office to lodge her plaint in the matter.
According to the complaint, the woman claims that her husband is in the habit of watching porn clips and videos and then demanding her to do the same things as in the pornographic films, including unnatural sex. The woman claims that the husband also makes her watch the vulgar videos and then subjecting her to unnatural demands for sex.
According to reports, the woman took sexually errant behavior of her husband with her mother-in-law, but to no avail. The woman has reportedly told the police that the mother-in-law, instead of chastising her son, brushed aside the matter, telling the wife to continue to do as her husband demanded squeamishly.
The woman has also reported that on defying her husband and turning down his unnatural sexual demands, she was allegedly beaten black and blue into submission by her in-laws, including the mother and brother of the husband.
According to media reports, the mother of the aggrieved woman has claimed that her daughter was shown vulgar porn films by her husband, who then wanted her to do re-enact the sex as portrayed in the videos. The mother has, reportedly, also claimed that her daughter’s mother-in-law advised her to continue doing what was asked of her by her husband and that she could do pretty little about it. ‘These things happen with everybody,’ is what the complainant claims her mother-in-law told her.
The complainant, claimed her mother, kept things to her owing to shame.
While things were fine for a brief period after marriage, the in-laws started harassing the complainant.

Bodies of three sex workers found stabbed to death in two apartments in upmarket district of Prati
Police in Rome are hunting for a possible serial killer after the bodies of three women were found in two apartments in the upmarket district of Prati.
Two of the women, both sex workers of Chinese nationality believed to be aged between 40 and 50, were found stabbed to death in an apartment on Via Augusto Riboty.
The porter of the building raised the alarm after finding the body of one of the deceased women on the doorstep of the apartment on Thursday morning, while the other body was found inside.
The body of a Colombian woman, identified as Marta Castano Torres, also a sex worker who had been stabbed to death, was found by her sister in a basement apartment on a nearby street.
Stab wounds to the throat, chest and back were found on the bodies of the Chinese women, who are yet to be identified.
A source at Rome police said investigators were working on the theory that the women were murdered by the same person. Torres, 65, who the Italian press said was working as a sex worker to support her daughter financially, is believed to have been killed before the two other victims.
The killings occurred a few hundred metres from Italy’s supreme court, in an elegant neighbourhood where in recent years there has been a growth in criminal networks running prostitution businesses out of apartments.
The killings have prompted calls for prostitution to become a regulated profession in Italy to protect sex workers. Italy permits street prostitution but organised prostitution and brothels are illegal.
“These murders are horrific,” said Ermina Gbido from the Committee for the Civil Rights of Prostitutes, a non-profit organisation founded by sex workers in 1982 to fight against sex trafficking and support people in the profession.
“For sure, there are criminal networks that manage sex workers in apartments, exploiting them and making them go from apartment to apartment, working long hours. This is a nasty business. But we also need to understand that there are those who want to do this work but cannot do it in a place of safety as the norms do not allow it.”
Federico Rocca, a councillor in Rome for Brothers of Italy, the far-right party of the prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, said the business of prostitution in apartments was strongly rooted in “every district of the city”.
“Three people lost their lives, brutally killed by a possible client,” he told the Italian media. “We must wait for the outcome of the investigation but there is sadness over their fate, and at the same time anger as, once again, we’ve had to wait for something serious to happen in order to tear down the wall of hypocrisy surrounding the phenomenon of prostitution in apartments.”

NEW YORK (WCBS) - Police in New York are searching for a suspect after a caretaker found three women of one family dead in their home.
The women were all found dead in their bedrooms. Police found a knife in a bathroom and believe the suspect may be a young male relative, who has not been found.
“I don’t know what’s going on in this world today man. Everything is crazy,” Garfield McDonald, a neighbor, said.
The victims were a 68-year-woman, her 47-year-old daughter and the 68-year-old’s 26-year-old stepdaughter, who was bedridden and required special care.
The discovery was made when a home health attendant, who cared for the youngest victim, showed up for work around 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Another attendant with the same agency who worked in the home every Wednesday came to the scene later in the day with her daughter.
“She’s shocked because she just heard the news,” the attendant’s daughter, who did not share her name, told WCBS. “So, we bring her down here to see.”
Police described the attack as isolated and domestic in nature with no immediate risk to the public.
Mayor Eric Adams visited the crime scene, was briefed on the details and left without talking to reporters
Police said the suspect might be driving the car of one of his victims.
