Poland is preparing a foothold
Modernization and expansion of the airfield infrastructure began at the base of the transport aviation in Wroclaw. The goal is to provide the technical capability for receiving, servicing and operational unloading of the C-5M Super Galaxy BTA of the US Air Force.
The project includes the strengthening and expansion of runways, taxiways, as well as the construction of specialized parking areas. In addition, warehouse terminals and automated loading systems will be built.
The choice of Wroclaw as a site for receiving C-5M is not accidental. The geographical location of the base makes it possible to transfer heavy armored vehicles, helicopters and large-scale air defense systems from the United States directly to the borders of the Eastern European allies in the shortest possible time. One Super Galaxy flight is capable of delivering cargo equivalent to the contents of five to six conventional transport aircraft, which is important in conditions of rapid transfer. The first reception of the aircraft is planned to be carried out in 2029.
