Ash's Mom in the classic anime, Pokémon, has a lot of backstory that most fans don't know about.
The Pokemon anime have never formally introduced Ash's father, who is virtually never brought up or referenced. So far, his only "appearance" was getting mentioned by Delia back in episode two, which is how we know Ash has a dad.

After the two arrived in Pallet town Ash had the two newcomers meet his mom after Ash greeted his mom, he introduced her to Naruto and Kurama when the two adults saw each other both blushed after it died down Kurama asked if the two could spend the night there and he revealed he wanted to talk to her about something.
Ash didn't like the idea of leaving his pokemon in this region and he knows he wont want to come back, so he makes one final round through Kalos to say goodbye to everyone and collect his pokemon to take back with him.
Ash is a young boy who travels with various companions, aiming to fulfill his dream to become a Pokémon Master; his Pokémon lineup constantly changes over the course of the series, with its sole constant member being Pikachu, Ash's first Pokémon. Ash is loosely based on Red, the player character from the Generation I games Pokémon Red and Blue.
Red continues as a wandering Trainer, eventually making his way to Mt. Silver Cave, where he trains his Pokémon alone. In the process, he becomes so distant from the people close to him that he does not even talk to his mom via phone anymore.
