Some women meet lots of men online and have a chance to play the field. This makes looking for love exciting, as you get to pick and choose from a variety of guys to find the right one. Yet, this can come with its own set of problems if you don’t know how to handle the social opportunity online dating can bring.
My coaching client, Ellie, had a parade of men who responded to her online profile. Some weeks she’d have coffee or a drink with as many as five new guys. She managed to fit all these meetings into her calendar, but you can imagine how the amount of attention was overwhelming at times.
Ellie was doing something right because she also had a lot of second and third date requests. But juggling her suitors became a concern. So she called me for my expert dating advice on how to deal with the flood of romantic options.
I’m a huge fan of playing the field when you begin dating. There are seven vital reasons why this is a sound strategy for finding love. Here are 7 rules to follow, and the one big mistake to avoid.
There’s no second date guarantee in dating. Regardless of how much fun you both had the first time you meet, you never know who will ask for a second date.
Women are constantly surprised and devastated by this frustrating fact. Rather than waiting around for a man to call and ask , it’s best to see all the prospects who appeal and fit your criteria (as much as you can tell before the first meeting).
That’s why it’s good to "hedge your bets,” because you need to meet lots of men to find a good match.
When you date multiple men, there are serious benefits.
Think of how much more savvy you’d be if you had 20 dates in a short period versus spreading them out over months.
That’s what I discovered when I was dating after 40. Sometimes I juggled three or four guys because they appealed to me and asked me out. Most were one-date wonders so it never became a problem.
In business, when you’re on a roll landing new clients, it tends to attract even more clients. The same thing can be said for dating multiple men.
One client of mine who used this strategy successfully created her desired deal flow by being friendly and flirty at airline clubs and charity events. She had an absolute blast meeting amazing men before she chose the one she wanted to get serious with.
Some clients insist they’ll only date one person at a time, see how things go and move on if things don’t work out. This sounds logical, but here’s the rub: you can easily get prematurely attached to the wrong guy, because you don’t know about your options.
The last thing you want to do is shut down the flow of interested men That’s like telling the Universe, “I don’t need these choices.” I advise not limiting your options so fast. If a man you find interesting wants to meet, even though you’ve had two dates with another, say yes and go!
When you date only one guy, he’ll be your focal point, because there aren’t others to soak up all that attention. Dating more than one guy at a time keeps you from fixating and allows you to remain objective.
The point of dating is to get to know people, so you can choose your best match based on something more objective than just the fact that you've grown attached to him. Playing the field does just that.
I recommend my clients go on three dates with any man who is in the “ball park” of what they want. If you go on a first date with a guy and you’re not sure about him — that’s a good reason to see him again.
Sometimes a man can be nervous and not at his best on the first couple of dates, then shines on date three when given the chance. That was true with my husband. Date one was fun, unlike date two which was a dud.
I could have easily kicked him to the curb but decided to give him another shot. Date three was magical! I found out months later he wasn’t feeling well, felt too shy to say anything and didn’t want to cancel. I would have missed out if I didn’t follow the three-date rule.
It takes time to get to know people and discover who could be a good match. Give men a chance by going on a few dates with each one before you start cutting them loose.

Just remember, if you’re too hard to schedule, he might move on. You need to be available with time in your calendar for dates. If you put a man off for a week or two, he’s likely to move on.
A man’s interest in you has a shelf life like food from the grocery store. There are plenty of other women, so if you’re difficult to schedule, he has other interesting women to choose from.
If Ellie had too many second and third dates in a week, she held off meeting additional new men. Once space opened up, then she’d say yes to first dates again.

This game is fantastically useful for blooming relationships. Many of the cards contain truly important topics that people are too timid to bring up early in a relationship, but they really are important. They have questions like: Are you still friends with your exes? Why? How do you want to handle finances when you're married? What's your favorite childhood memory? What's your favorite sexual position? Some are sexy, some are nostalgic, some are just simply important, but all are great conversation starters. I've actually played this with a group of girlfriends, and it was still fun. I've let friends borrow the game a few times and they've enjoyed using it. After a year of dating, my boyfriend and I revisited the game and still had fun - this time we tried predicting each other's answers. Highly recommended.

I wanted a corner desk so I had enough deskspace to support multiple monitors and still have room to enjoy. This desk is for home, too, so I didn't want to spend a boat-load of money just to get a desk that barely fit my needs. Thankfully, the 59226 doesn't disappoint. The weight is up there. For my location, shipping cost more than the actual desk! Glass tops will always be heavier than everything except wood, though... The 153lbs is a lot more manageable, however, as it's easy to take apart a few key components to transport. The graphic instructions reminded me a lot of a LEGO instruction set, and made it that much easier to set up. Some portions of the manual could use zoom-ins, but overall not bad. They do include a list of parts at the end to ensure you have everything (not everyone does). The entire assembly is handled off of one hex-head. Can't remember the size, but it's all you'll need for the most part. The parts feel sturdy even before assembly, with the only "plastic weaknesses" being endcaps and the keyboard tray's and printer stand's horizontal-slide sleeves (which it pretty much has to be). The keyboard tray itself only has five ball bearings in each track, but they're tight enough in the slide that action feels smooth. The keyboard tray is on the large side, giving you space for either a large gaming keyboard or a small, simple keyboard and mouse. The printer mount is only sturdy enough for a small inkjet type printer or page scanner. If you need something larger, don't mount the printer stand or use the other side. The tower computer mount on the bottom to keep your machine off the floor is large enough for most standard ATX mid-towers. Stubby mini-towers might err on the wide-side, while full towers cannot unless you choose not to mount the keyboard tray. The corner pane only screws in at one point and stands on plastic suction cups. While this solution works in practice, two of the glass screw-mounts would've been a far better choice. The only other minor issue is that all the holes on the main four standpieces are designed with the layout pictured as the only possibility. A simple change in the fabrication process would allow you to put the keyboard tray, the tower stand, or the printer stand on whichever side you choose. All in all, you cannot find a better desk for the price, especially when similar desks are charging as much as $130 more for less of a desk! This one will do good for your home or office work.

First: this has to be, hands down, the easiest enclosure i have ever purchased. i was dreading the thought of having to squeeze my 750 into an enclosure with those horrid wires. Not only was this quick to arrive, it was amazing to assemble. One screw and poof the thing slides in and you are done! why has no one done that before? Second: I read a few reviews about the fans on this little spaceshipesque guy saying that it was horribly loud and obnoxious. since i knew that i wasnt planning on keeping this on for longer than file transfers i decided that it wasnt going to be a factor in me not getting it. i pleasantly surprised at how *near* silent it was. Just in case, i kept it on just a little longer while i did things around my room to see if it possibly got louder as it heated up. No change from what i could tell. This is a great enclosure. Not only does it do it's job, it was simple and easy to work with. only downfall is how shiny it is. (not that i care but smudges show up, so if you get obsessive about that, you might want to invest in a little buffing cloth) :)

I have a fine hair and always have trouble to find good spray that will not be sticky. I usually use Sebastian hair spray to add volume, and now I discovered NIVEA! Holds hair very nicely, smells divine! I strongly recommend this product! NIVEA is just the best with all of the products, from skin care to hair care. I LOVE the product!

This purchase was of a Class A was a refurbished item, but it has not given me a single problem and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for portable DVD player. The volume does not get overly loud, but is loud enough without causing sound distortion. The picture quality is great and I appreciate the larger picture than you get with the smaller size units. As for the complaint from one reviewer about the difficultly finding an power adapter for use in the car- Best Buy sells a universal car adapter for under $20 which works just fine. All in all I would say this was an excellent buy for the money.

Amazing power from this electric motor - more than many Cox engines. Power/weight ratio is impressive as it's foam. Not easy to fly... requires a huge field (baseball diamond too small) and lots of self training (like to turn oposite direction when flying toward you). I've crashed mine and glued w/epoxy many, many times (also replaced the nose cone at least 4 times and motor mount). Just an amazing plane... but not really a "toy"!

I bought a trila size of it and I loved it because when I used it that night before going out, my hair looked like as if I had been at the hairdressers. Fab product, would highly recommend it.
