I liked the ads, but really expected this to be like another las vegas or annoying episodic but the characters are fantastic and it feels like the 60's. not in the same way as, say mad men, but enough to keep it fun. its rare that shows start off this strong right out of the gate. if you like abit of depth in your eye candy, this is the show for you. i just hope they dont dumb it down.

Unimpressive. It starting out to be entertaining but it got old with the dry acting and poor plot themes. Save your money and wait for this to become free on Netflix if you must watch. I had high hopes on this show and was sadly disappointed.

The few episodes available are worth the watch. It's to bad the show was cancelled. Watch them while you can.

This series tried to explore the early stirrings of the sexual revolution--and crashed just as quickly as it hit the air. On a primetime network it was unable to do a LOT. And this ensured it never had an actual chance. So it ended up being a campy hour of filler. I'm not sure who their intended audience for their series was supposed to be/ The guys who used to attend these clubs, their relatives? The women who used to work there? Their relatives? The show never found it's intended nichce and was pulled just as quickly as it came on. Because there are so few episodes, I'm doubtful that a company is going to release a season set.

I had high expectations for this show, but was really let down after the first episode. This show is clearly doing its best to copy Mad Men. Further, it's doing so in a show that plays more like a daytime soap opera than the drama you would expect. I won't be watching any more. Pan Am appears to also be doing the same thing, but I haven't seen it yet to comment on the implementation.

I loved the series and was devastated when the prudes at NBC cancelled it. I am a 70's connoisseur and loved the authenticity of the entire show. I appreciated the fact that Playboy Enterprises (Hugh Heffner is my God!) took the upper hand legally requiring all visuals of both the club and all aspects of the costumes were required to go through them for approval. Everything, and I do mean everything right down to which way the bunny cuff links faced had to be approved by them - even the bend in the bunny ears had to be approved. The story line was cheesy but I can tell you by having grown up in a small aspect of the 70's itself was in fact cheesy. The "cheese factor" is what I love most about the 70's and this show including the writing of the storyline was a totally accurate cheese fest! Women were still "coming into their own" back then, at that time bras were still in the process of being burned and women to a large degree were still acting as "damsels in distress tied to rail road tracks" and men were still full of themselves and relying upon their looks to get by and get laid. Like I said a total cheese fest but then again those were the times and those were the days, when women were still considered "dolls" and "dames"! Oh how I miss those days! Sex was still kept in closets and dark alleys and there was none of this ridiculous "friends with benefits".

I was totally hooked from the beginning and my sister & I made a point to watch it every week. I was truly upset when i found out about the cancellation. If anyone knows where i could purchase the whole season on DVD that would be great thanks!

Former Playmates, girlfriends, and employees including Sondra Theodore, Susie Krabacher, Lisa Loving Barrett and Audrey Ann Huskey come together to share their experiences and struggles stemming from their time in the Playboy world. Alongside sex and trauma therapist Dr. Kate Balestrieri, the women reflect on the decades of fear and abuse they experienced and how the Playboy legacy has changed as a result of their decisions to come forward.
Former girlfriends of Hugh Hefner Karissa and Kristina Shannon, discuss their experience with Hefner and the hit television series “The Girls Next Door,” which introduced a new generation to Hefner and the Playboy lifestyle. Telling their emotional story for the first time, Karissa and Kristina reveal that beneath the sugar-coated exterior was a darker world led by Hefner with increasingly stricter rules designed to control the women in order to maintain the Playboy image.
In public, Hefner continually professed that he wanted to protect his “girls next door.” But he continually failed. Never before heard stories from Playmate Susie Krabacher, mansion employees Stefan and Stella Tetanbaum, and Sondra Theodore reveal the dark truth that Hefner was the Mansion’s Predator Number One.
During the 1990s, Playmates like Pamela Anderson and Anna Nicole Smith had reached peak fame and young women flocked to Los Angeles in hopes of being the next centerfold. Yet for those not deemed attractive enough for the magazine, men in Hefner’s inner circle set up “shadow” mansions where women were exploited.
From the earliest parties at the Mansion, celebrities like Roman Polanski and Bill Cosby were a big part of the allure of the Playboy brand. But Hugh Hefner kept some Hollywood A-listers happy at the expense of the women.
A roundtable of Playmates recount how decades of women modeled for the magazine because they believed the Playboy promise that becoming a Playmate would lead to a lucrative career in a safe environment. Instead, many faced a hostile environment rampant with drugs, pornography, and prostitution. The circumstances led Miki Garcia to testify against Playboy before the Reagan Administration’s 1980s Commission on Pornography.
The Playboy corporate world was billed as a welcoming place for women, but Playmate and eventual Director of Playboy Promotions Miki Garcia and Bunny Mother PJ Masten reveal the rampant sexual harassment they faced as they attempted to climb the corporate ladder.
After decades of silence, Hefner’s former number one girlfriend Sondra Theodore shares her story detailing how she was groomed by him to participate in his increasingly abusive sex life. Sondra’s testimony shines a spotlight on Hefner’s mechanisms for controlling and breaking women.
This episode explores the 1970s DEA investigation into Hefner, Playboy, and drugs through the lens of two women who lived and worked at Playboy: Hefner’s right-hand woman Bobbie Arnstein, who committed suicide while being investigated for drug trafficking, and Playboy Bunny Adrienne Pollack, who died of a drug overdose in 1973.
The Playboy Bunny was the most famous sex symbol of the 20th century. Playboy hired the most attractive women in the world to don the ears and tail by promising an environment where they would always be protected. But outside of the clubs, at the Playboy Mansion itself, and in the company of Hefner’s VIP customers, the Bunnies faced dangers and abuses that were covered up by the Playboy “cleanup crew.”
In the 2000s, Hugh Hefner reinvented himself and his brand through the runaway success of the reality show “Girls Next Door,” starring his girlfriends Bridget Marquardt, Kendra Wilkinson, and number one girlfriend Holly Madison. The series made mansion life seem like a fairytale, but Holly and Bridget reveal that the reality was a life full of rigid rules, gaslighting, and infighting.
Hugh Hefner sold himself as a champion of free speech who created the Playboy brand to set off a sexual revolution that would liberate men and women alike, but over the years he used Playboy to manipulate women to compete for his favor and silenced whistleblowers.
