My 'very good friend' and I decided to visit Veronica's after reading the reviews on Trip advisor and also by being recommended by a friend. We had a couples massage and felt exhilarated afterwards.. It put a smile on our faces all day.. A definite must should you want a massage that clears away all your cares in the world.. In fact we could do with one now! I'm disappointed that I never got to experience the 4 hands massage. I did return the next day with my Aunt as a gift for her 70th birthday.Shethoroughly enjoyed her sports massage. A.Gibb and V.principal.
After reading all of the reviews on this place, we had to try it. Oddly, the taxi drivers did not seem to know anything about it and it was not easy to find, but well worth it. Following previous recommendations, the wife used Carlos and I used Angela. Both were wonderful. We even went back for 2 hour massages each. Evidently, snoring is allowed. I got 2 hours of deep tissue from Angela and she found muscles that I forgot I had. $60 for both for one hour, plus a tip of course. They only have 3 beds, so suggest to make an appointment.
We traveled October 14-21, 2013 to Playa del Carmen, Mx to The Royal Resort. Prior to this travel, friends highly suggested that we visit Veronicas for a massage. We read reviews that suggested massages by Carlos & Angel. Veronicas is a 5 minute walk from The Royal. We walked to the massage parlor and Big D and I had a couples massage. Carlos was my massage therapist and Dale had Lalo on two ocassions and Angel on the other. Needless to say, we booked another massage, and another and another --- yes, 4 while I was there! That is how phenomenal the massages are. Dale will be writing a review so I wont go into detail about Angel & Lalo's massages. Details about massage with Carlos ----I wont list each detail just highlights. * At the beginning of each massage Carlos rubbed his hands together to obtain high friction for heat and would immediately apply his hands to each vertebrae for total relaxation. Immediately following that he would slightly press and massage each vertebrae and my back would pop like a chiropractor adjustment. It relieved so much tension and pressure. This all occurred within the first 5 minutes. * I have an injury to my right shoulder. Carlos did not know about my shoulder problem. At times, I have not been able to raise my arm or use it. I have had an injection by an ortho surgeon with more to come. Upon Carlos massaging my shoulder area he immediately located where I have the issue - he never knew he "nailed" the exact location of where the ortho surgeon injected my shoulder for the medical problem. I can tell it loosened tight muscles, etc and Im excited to see what long term effects it has. * He also does an amazing thing with a towel and rolling your head-neck. I cant wait to attempt it at home when family is sick with headaches or has tension-stress. I could go on and on about Carlos but I recommend you book a massage with him next time you are within driving distance of Playa del Carmen, MX. CARLOS....THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH! I appreciate you! Above and beyond the best massages we have ever experienced! We had two couples massages with Miss Veronica and Carlos and they were one of the highlights of our trip. Not only were they extremely accommodating and professional the massages were a full hour of pure Heaven! Also the price was unbelievable roughly $60 US dollars for both an hour!! Thank you you both for awesome massages!! We recommend them to everyone?!
I had two massages from Carlos and both were wonderful. The first was deep tissue, and Carlos zeroed right in on the trigger points and tight areas. I had another massage the second day and opted for the relaxation massage, which was also great and helped my muscles recover from the deep tissue massage. I did have a bit of trouble finding the place and offer these very simple directions: as you are facing the beach, from the intersection with royal playa del carmen, turn left (you will see the royal's "Asiana" restaurant on this corner). Veronica's is about a block and a half down the road. You will pass the green monkey hostel and Veronica's is on the next block on the left. If you are in Playa del Carmen and want a great massage at a more than fair price, i highly recommend that you check this place out.
Angela moved my arms in several positions (a new massage technique to me) as she massaged my upper back which got deep into the sore muscles of my shoulder blades and neck without causing me any additional pain! She found all the stubborn knots and was gentle, consistent and thorough. The oils she used smelled really good and my skin feels hydrated, not greasy. I have never enjoyed the process of working out my terrible stress-knots until this massage. I am usually gritting my teeth waiting for my shoulders to be "finished." This was such a pleasure and an excellent outcome! I feel so great - thank you, Angela! Cost: 500 pesos (with tip) very well spent. Hours: mon-sun 9 AM to 9:30 PM

I am a woman who has had around 35-40 professional massages in many places; I have at least 2 when I am on vacation. After reading the tripadvisor reviews, I tried this place out. I had a male masseuse (short, stocky mexican). He was pretty good, but he made me uncomfortable with some of the areas he touched. He touched the upper 1/3 of my breasts, and also massaged all the way to my upper inner and outer thighs not too far from the private zone. During prior massages (by both men and women), no one had ever massaged my chest/ breast area, and no one had ever gone higher than the upper 1/3 of the thigh (at least 6 inches below the crotch level). This guy also seemed to be fascinated by my manicured nails -- he kept pinging my fingernails with his fingers, and massaging my fingertips. I felt very uncomfortable - I think he should have at least asked before he did these things.
We went to the location at the corner of Constituyentes and 5th Avenue. I had two AMAZING massages from Consuelo. She is knowledgeable and responsive.
I had read reviews on trip advisor before about Veronica's so we knew it was something we wanted to try...we had the couple's massage, which was 60 minutes for $60 USD for the both of us (30 each). The place was very clean and air conditioned - the massage was AMAZING!! (I wish I knew the name of the masseuse but I missed it!) I can't believe the deal - our resort was going to charge $200 USD for the same massage - NO WAY! Will definitely do again (maybe more than once) when we return!!
There are many massage places in PDC, most of which look sketchy. We went to Veronica's solely based on Trip Advisor reviews and were very happy we did. The entry is not much to look at and is shared with Karma Bagels, but upstairs it has quiet, comfy rooms away from the mess of 5th ave, air conditioned, very professional masseuses (my fiance and I both got massages). I've had wonderful massages at nice resorts and spas across the US/world and don't mind spending the $$ for a good treatment, and went to Veronica's pretty much expecting to be disappointed...and I was not!! Massages in the resorts are pricey, and at $30 usd Veronica's is 1/4 of the cost and It was worth every single penny we spent on it!!
I am a frequent traveller and I have received massages all over the world. Veronica's massage is one of the best places ever. I spent two weeks in Playa del Carmen and I went there 3 times (now I regret it wasn't more often) for therapeutic massages. I can't complain at all: I was always received on time, they were extremely professional and the place was clean and spotless. I would recommend you to ask for Omar, he has gold hands and if you have any back problem, he will be able to sort it out. I will miss Veronica's!!! and I will be back!!!
I had visited Veronica's in May of 2009 and had a great massage with 2 of my friends. I was intent on getting another one with some new friends this month. I made a reservation 4 days in advance for 7 friends. 5 one hour and 2 the following hour. When we arrived, nobody was there to greet us and one worker was inside giving a massage. We waited for a half hour and then just left disappointed. We would have come back but we had little time in Playa as we were on a cruise ship. FYI

While in PDC last year I noticed that there were a lot of massage parlors there. Just about every 4th doorway leads you into one. Are these legitimate massage parlors or are this more of the Rub&Tug that you would not want to take your wife into? I would hate to go inside only to find a sleazy set up.

further up the beach there was a marque ten t set up and the massages were very good and reasonable prices, and it's on the beach so no funny buisness
