1. Emerald Lake

All-natural and beautiful all year round, this gorgeous lake is a must-see on any trip to Yercaud. One of the most sought-after things to do in Yercaud include enjoying a boat ride or two on Emerald Lake. It lives up to its name, boasting splendid emerald green water. The surrounding peaks are capped with clouds. There’s an amazing garden on the lake’s banks. The lake also has a fountain, so be sure to check that out. Row, as well as paddle boats, are available at reasonable rates. Safety measures are in place. The lake is a sight for weary souls.

2. Lady’s Seat

Not only does this excellent viewpoint afford you some nice views of the winding Ghat road you can also see Salem Town and Mettur Dam (on River Cauvery) from here. This certainly makes Lady’s Seat one of the top places to visit in Yercaud. There’s also a viewing tower with a telescope, so do spend time there when you visit. This popular location derives its name from Shevaroy Hill’s three rock formations named: Children’s Seat, Gent’s Seat, and of course this one. Historical rumour: an Englishwoman used to admire and study these rock formations back in the day, hence the name Lady’s Seat.

3. Silk Farm

This location enjoys status as one of the most valuable places on the Yercaud tourism roster. Actual silkworms are raised here. They’re fed on mulberry leaves. Visitors get to see them up close, especially how their cocoons are used in the production of silk. You can also learn the silk worm’s life cycle and various methods used in the spinning of silk. A visit to the Silk Farm is certainly one of the most memorable things to do in Yercaud.

4. Deer Park

You’ll find plenty of restaurants in Yercaud situated near this park, but please make sure you do not pack any food from the outside to take into the park to feed the animals. Respecting Nature is key to a healthy future for us all. The Deer Park is one of the signature things to do in Yercaud. The park certainly contains more than just deer. Rabbits, pigeons, ducks, guinea pigs, and peacocks can also be seen inside. The urban park is surrounded by Emerald Lake, adding to your visit value. Swings are available for the kiddies to enjoy along with sights of the animals and birds in the park.
