Thank you for this one star review of Rocket Piss Bitterscotch! This is the grossest soda ever and is indeed the best way to ruin a weekend!! Jokes aside, you are right, this drink is intended to be really bitter and not taste that great. It contains an ingredient called quinine which is found in tonic water, and this is the reason for the urine taste. As a fun fact, quinine was actually used for its medicinal properties in the past. Overall, Rocket Piss Bitterscotch Soda is meant to be more of a gag gift for you to give to friends or share at a party! I remember trying this drink for the first time and not being able to even take a second sip! It has a really strong flavor. As another reviewer said, this soda flavor "grows on you.
I bought this at a deli not realizing it was bitter (I didn't read the label carefully), so I was really surprised when I took my first sip. It is not at all sickly sweet like most sodas, and hits with a bitter fizz that will make your eyes go a little wide. I am half way through my first bottle and I'm enjoying it. There is a sweet butterscotch taste behind the bitter lemon, and I'm liking this soda =)
The novelty that the drink glows in the dark is amusing. The drink itself however tastes 100% like that bitter spray you use to keep dogs or babies from chewing on things. I agree with Kirsten. This is the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth.
