Should I Be Concerned About Discoloration (From Pink To Purple And Darker) Of My (Labia Majora) And/Or Vaginal Area?

I noticed lately that the tips of the lips of my vagina are turning dark colors. they used to be all pink. i saw porns before and sometimes they look the same but all the way dark purple-ish. I dont have much sexual experience so I'm not sure if sex is causing this. What is it from?? :'(

I have the same problem, and I'm only 18
mine used to be pink and now its like a purpleish/blackish
color. I'm scared for my boyfriend to see me because of it.

I have same problem. It makes me so insecured and afraid to have intimate relations because of the dark outer and inner lips down there. I hate it. Please someone tell me how to treat it.

Coming from a guy I can tell you, and I do not only speak for myself on this, in that GUYS DO NOT CARE!!! :-D Not to be graphic, but if a girl is willing to let a guy go down there, 99% of the guys will be so excited just to get between the legs that they would probably piss themselves. Point being, guys simply dont care trust me on it, who cares about what porn star's look like down there, theres a difference between having a dark colored vagina and being able to fit animals up it versus nice girls who arn't s**ts with coloration. Guys could really care less about what color it is, in fact I can tell you if a girl can let herself go and just act as sexual as most guys are they wouldnt even think twice about anything else I promise!

Did you notice how many of you posted with this issue? That probably means it's normal. You don't have anything wrong with you. The only way to ease you minds entirely is to get a check up.

First of all, PLEASEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

A change in the color of the area is NOT indicative of pregancy, period.

It is a naturally occuring change and, by the way, a secret used by "porn" starts is cherry koolaid to dye the area before filming. Stupid too as it can cause an infection.

Guys don't care. We REALLY don't.

I'm just confirming the fact that most guys do not care!

There are probably a bunch of guys who really like that and a group of guys that really don't like it, but they would definitely be in the minority.

A word of advice, if you are stopping your boyfriend's sexual advances and you don't tell him why, he will more than likely get the wrong idea.

its actually quite normal for this to occur. the color of lips depends on many factors such as ethnicity or just simple bodily changes that come with age. no vagina can possible look the same for ones entire life as you get older and your body matures things change.

it happened to me as i went through puberty....now im 22, im used to it and guys really dont care, were all different skin tones, just like were all different down there, hey atleast you dont have to be a guy and worry about penis size, they have way more to worry about than color trust me ;-) be confident!

I'm 16, and The tops of my vaginal lips are dark colored to, but i'm white. It doesn't make sense, just like the other people that posted something, they used to be pink now they are a dark color, I don't know why, and I don't want to have a sexual relationship with a guy cuz of it! :'(

But after seeing what other people on here wrote, I guess it's normal!

and i was like "OH?!" and then i looked for myself... and they are brown, not pink... 8-|

Pondering the same question as to "why" this symptom occurs, I found myself at this forum today. As a 28 year-old married man, and have noticed my wife's labia undergoing similar changes. When I say "noticed", I should also inform you that I've also "noticed" this with sexual partners previous to my wife. I'm, with a fair amount of certainty; sure this is a perfectly normal change for the vagina to undergo through the going process. Reading these blogs has informed me of why. You all should know that I am in no means turned off by my wife's appearance down there and believe I speak for 80% of men. The coloration, while may draw curiosity to those uniformed; has NO hindrance on our feelings to the beautiful women in our lives. I hope that as this is read, perhaps it will form a foundation to shaky or uneasy feelings in a women mind on the subject. You all do a wonderful and utterly fulfilling role to the men in your lives and for that.......that is what makes them gracious.

I am 28 year old women who has only just started to discover these changes. After reading up on it though I discovered it was caused by stimulation, it makes the blood run to you girl bits ( same as with a guy ) and over time this can cause permanent or occasional darkening of the area.

If you also have burning, itching, or the skin tears easily it can also be a sign of thrush or other irritation such soaps or deodorants, but if there are no other symptoms than it is most probably a normal and natural change.

I like most females on here was alarmed at first, and worried that it would cause my husband to lose interest however he says he hadn't even noticed until I mentioned it and now I have bought to his attention he says he doesn't care and it hasn't changed anything between us.

I think the guys on here are right and we care about it way more than our partners do.
