Flirting In French: 67 Flirty, dirty & cheesy French pick-up lines so bad they’re good
{"email":"Email address invalid","url":"Website address invalid","required":"Required field missing"}
I’m a bilingual North American with Thai and French Canadian roots who's been living in the south of France for almost 10 years.
I love writing weird, wonderful, interesting, forgotten, and fascinating articles for intellectually curious people amazed by France, French culture, and world travel.
I’ve put together a list of 67 flirty, dirty and cheesy French pick up lines with English translations. For some, they’re ridiculously bad; for others, they’re so bad they’re good. But they’re all really funny and sometimes cringy.
“Hi there gorgeous, c ome here often?”
We all know a cheesy pickup line when we hear one.
Although the French language might be the poster child for the “language of love” and “elegance,” there are just as many cheesy pickup lines in French as there are in English and any other foreign language.
We already know how the French feel about cheese.
But flirting in any language using pick-up lines is challenging.
They either work wonders or fail miserably. They can be funny and witty or the complete opposit. But a good pick-up line that makes someone laugh or smile can work.
In the least, they’re good ice breakers and funny conversation starters, even if you’re learning French.
let’s improve your French flirting vocabulary and learn some cheesy pickup lines in French and a few dirty pick-up lines to help you get your flirt on.
To flirt, pick up or hit on someone:
Pickup lines:” phrases d’accroche pour draguer” or “phrases de drageur.
To pick up a girl: “Aborder une fille.”
If you’re someone who likes to flatter people, then you know that flattery goes a long way.
Here are some easy one-liner compliments to break the ice.
Literally, “you are magnificent,” but idiomatically, it can mean you are gorgeous.
Comme tu es mignon! (Say to him) Comme tu es mignonne ! (Say to her)
Salut, ça va? Tu as un beau sourire.
J’aime beaucoup ta façon de penser, tu me plais.
Tu es aussi beau (belle) à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur.
J’aime tellement ton humour intelligent.
Not quite pick-up lines, these flirty French phrases are direct and to the point.
Êtes-vous célibataire? or Es-tu célibataire?
Say to a man : As-tu un petit copain? or Tu as un petit ami?
Say to a woman : As-tu un petite copine? or Tu as une petite amie?
Bonjour (Bonsoir), qu’est-ce que vous buvez ?
J’aimerais t’inviter à dîner chez moi.
In France, mobile phone numbers used to all have the 06 prefix. Now their is 04, as well as 07.
06 has become slang for mobile phone number. Similar to how in the US, give me the 411 means give me the lowdown/ information.
On to the good stuff. Break out the cheese knife, cause it’s going to get really cheesy here.
Est-ce que je peux t’appeler Biscotte? Parce que ie te trouve craquante.
Je viens de me rendre compte que tue ressembles beaucoup à mon prochain petit ami (say to a man)
In French, calling some a cannon means they are drop-dead gorgeous/good-looking.
If you’re a 14-year-old boy or curious about learning some naughty pickup lines, try these, but watch out.
They might get you into some deep trouble. There is a French expression to “flirt like an ox” (drague comme un beouf), which is exactly how you might come across if you use these.
And please don’t ever say “voulez vous couchez avec moi ce soir?” which technically is grammatically correct in French to ask someone, “would you like to sleep with me tonight?” However, this iconic French phrase is really cringy and sounds strange to French ears.
Your guess is as good as mine. Most of my female French friends say no, they don’t.
But they can work if you know how to use them, when to use them and how to deliver them otherwise you might look like a creepy jerk.
A pickup line is an ice breaker, a conversation starter that is usually meant to be flirty or complimentary but also funny.
So will these cheesy French phrases and pickup lines work?
You’ll never know for sure until you try..
All I can say is, they make my husband laugh when I use them on him.

French Pick-Up Lines for Any Situation

Everyone knows that French is the language of love , but how can you use that to your advantage if you want to get a date when you’re in the City of Lights (or anywhere else in the French-speaking world)? You probably won’t learn any pick-up lines in French class, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a few in your back pocket, ready to use when you’re struck by a coup de foudre– that is, a “flash of lightning,” or “love at first sight” in French. While the French don’t typically use pick-up lines in everyday situations, as a foreigner you can definitely use your charming accent to your advantage and break the ice with some of these phrases de drague . Who knows, they may just help you find your own Francophone chéri(e) ! Here are some French pick-up lines you should know, as well as when you should use them!
Excuse-moi. Est-ce que tu embrasses les inconnus? Excuse me, do you kiss strangers? Non? OK, je me présente alors.                                No? Then let me introduce myself. Since just about every French class starts off with how to introduce yourself, this seems as good a line as any to try as any. If you were a sandwich at McDonald’s, you’d be the Mc-nificent!   Yes, it’s horrible, but admit it, you chuckled. I just realized that you look a lot like my next boyfriend/girlfriend. This line starts out innocently enough that you’re sure to catch the listener’s attention, and the end will hopefully let you get a real conversation going! If I teach you English, will you teach me how to French kiss? Yes, it’s corny, but if you want to capitalize on your cute foreign accent, this is the line to use.
Ça t’a fait mal…quand tu es tombé(e) du ciel? Did it hurt…when you fell from heaven? It’s the most well-known, cheesiest of all pick-up lines, and it has a French translation! Est-ce que je peux t’appeler Biscotte? Parce que ie te trouve craquante. Can I call you Cookie? Because I find you irresistible. Only in French could there be a pick-up line that involves a baked good. Bonus points for the use of the word craquante here, which indicates something so irresistibly delicious-looking that you can’t help but want to bite right into it. Tu t’appelles Google? Is your name Google? Because I’ve found everything I’ve been looking for in you. While this line may be particularly corny, it definitely isn’t in danger of becoming outdated anytime soon! Crap, there’s something wrong with my phone. [Quoi?] [What?] Il manque ton numéro.   It’s missing your number. This line demands the participation of a second party, but once you’ve drawn him or her in, turn on the charm (or the cheese). On m’a toujou
