The semantic and syntactic structure of words.
The term "phoneme" is used in the sense of a unit of sound that is the basic unit of speech. The phoneme is the smallest unit of the language, which can be identified by a human being and can be perceived as a feature of sound. It is a small part of the whole phonological system of a language. Only one phoneme can exist at one time, but there are several phonemes in the same language.
The article is devoted to the study of phonemes in terms of their semantic and phonological characteristics. The definition of phonemic features in the terms of a dialectical relation between phonetic and semantic information is given. The distinction between the relevant and the irrelevant phoneme features is considered. The phoneme is viewed as a set of distinctive and irrelevant aspects of linguistic features.
A method of analyzing allophonic variability.

Abstract

The Phonological Theory of Speech (PTS) is one of the most important theories of speech in the world. The basic idea is that sound units are the basis for the formation of words in speech. In this paper we analyze the PTS in a way that is intended to show its general validity and relevance to speech, and to make clear the distinctions between the various aspects of the Phonology of Speech.
The phonetic and phonological aspects of speech are considered from the standpoint of their mutual interdependence. The phoneme, as a distinctive feature of speech, is presented as an idealized, three-dimensional unity. It is suggested that the phonemes of a given language may be grouped into several types depending on the specific features that distinguish them, including their distinctiveness and irrelevance.
Phonemes are the basic units of speech. In the process of phonetic analysis, phonemes may be defined as a group of sounds that form a single unit in the sense of their identity and identity of their functions. The phonemic system is the result of a dialectic process between the linguistic and the physiological processes. It is a unity, which is formed through the interaction between phonological, morphological, and syntactic rules.

The concept of phoneme is considered in the context of the dialectic as a unity of all the features which constitute the unit of sound, the phoneme, and of the sound as such. The concept is shown to be a dialectical unity of the various parts of the phonemic structure of a language and not a unitary structure. In this regard the concept is compared to the concept of dialect as dialectic unity.
in relation to its role in speech.

The article contains new data on phoneme structure in Russian, which are obtained from the analysis of two large samples of speech material. The analysis has shown that phonemes in the Russian language can be divided into four types: a) a single allophone; b) two allophonic variants; c) one allophone and one variant; d) three allophony variants. In addition, the authors propose a new classification of phonemes according to their distinctive and irrelevant properties.
The article discusses the problems of phonics, the relation of different types of phonemic allophony to one another, and the relations of phoneme to phonemes and phonetics. The paper gives an analysis of a number of instances of phonetic allophonic variation and shows that the phenomena of allophone development are not merely an indication of differences in phonetic environment but are, in fact, the expression of linguistic diversity, which lies at the basis of language variety.
