These were easy to install and directly replace conventional fluorescent bulbs without any modification to fixture or ballast. I ordered them on Prime and received, after more than 2 days, a total of four 3 foot bulbs. I don't know if this was a delivery/warehouse problem or a vendor mistake. After 8 days I finally had my bulbs.

The product itself is great I just think the package was not good enough to protect it. When I say package I am talking manufacturer’s and Amazon’s package. I didn’t return it because the rest were ok and I have already installed 6 of them, so you may want to check them all as soon as your package arrives.

Perfect LED retrofit for the old T8 bulbs in our office. In my photo the front are the original fluorescent T8's and in the rear are the 5000K color Philips InstaFit T8 LED. You can see it's brighter and much better color. The lamp on the left is an LED lamp of 5500K temperature for comparison. Definitely worth swapping these out in our office!

Simple retrofit and brighter than standard bulbs

Apparently this seems to be a common complaint. Being glass, they're very fragile. The packaging is just a box so it's a miracle that any of them arrive undamaged. Amazon reimbursed me for them. Since I only needed 8 and only 2 were broken, I was able to complete the project. As far as function, they work great-sort of. Nice bright light like new t-8's. The only glitch is that they don't always come on. A slight blip of the switch will kick it & then they work. A minor annoyance but still. My ballast was on the list so I don't think it's that. Installation was plug & play the main reason I went with them. If they last as long as they say, I'll be happy. UPDATE: Waiting for them to come on is getting to be a real PITA. I flick the switch & wait. 10 seconds later they're on. 10 seconds may not seem very long but if you're in the cold & dark it is. And that's every time. If it was an idiosyncrasy of LED's I'd understand but all my other lights including brand X replacement tubes are instant on. I may end up replacing them so that's money down the drain.

Couldn't really say what the problem was. Arrived two days earlier than anticipated which was nice but all the info on these lamps said they would work with the fixtures that I already had. I tried four different led tubes with the existing fixtures that were already on the ceiling. I would get a flicker once in a while from the new tubes but that was it. I will say that the fixtures that I already had on the ceiling in the shop were very cheap. Therein might be the problem. I had to return the tubes I had just purchased and buy some new LED fixtures with LED tubes already in them. Better quality too. Not the problem of the tubes.

3 out of 10 were damaged. It was expected due to the kind of packaging they come in. I felt the brightness could be better, I had the non LED version of this and they seem to be brighter than these. They are delicate so be careful while installing them, it's a thin glass. I hope they remove the annoying label sticker which is glued on the glass and blocks some view. I didn't attempt to remove it because of the fear of breaking these easily.

I bought these to replace the tubes in my garage. I have 5 of the Utilitech brand fixtures and they do not work with the ballasts. These fixtures are only about 4 years old. I did not see a ballast compatibility list mentioned until I received them and then on the outside of the box is the website address to go to to check for compatibility. Luckily I had some fixtures inside my house that they did work in. In those the LED bulbs were a definite upgrade.

We have 7 different florescent light styles in the house. I bought these because I didn't want to go around removing all of the ballasts to switch to LED . . . too much work. Ends up, each of my florescent lights have a different ballast type . . . and not a single one of them was compatible with this LED model. And the return window was way too short, so now I am stuck with them. So, although these lights claim to be compatible with dozens of ballast models, you still need to open up your fixture and make sure that they are compatible with yours. I am not convinced that any of the ballasts supported are common ballasts . . .
