Red Wine – Savory and Classic

Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot

Pairs well with Beef and Venison

Several important critics have rated this Bordeaux wine highly.
This is one of the most popular wines from the region. There has been a lowering of demand in the past year.

Widely available in Europe, Asia, and America. Recently three vintages between 2015 and 2019 were available.

A soft, blackberry-flavored wine produced by Château Giscours in Margaux, this has a touch of spice to lift the ripe fruitiness. No aging needed here, so drink now. Roger Voss

(2021) Made by the winemaking team at Margaux third growth, Château Giscours, this appellation Bordeaux red is 70% Merlot with 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Now with five years under its belt, there's a gentle pink rim to the ruby colour and very attractive aromas of spiced plum compote, with some classy cedar and a depth of fruit. A very pleasing wine in the mouth too, lots of juicy plum and black cherry, firm tannins and keen cherry-skin acidity give enough bite and structure, against the suppleness of the fruit.

This soft, fruity wine was produced by the wine team of Château Giscours in Margaux. Well-integrated tannins give structure to the black-currant fruits. Life and vivacity come from the final acidity. Drink now. Roger Voss

This is a bright, ripe and fruity wine. With its red fruits, gentle tannins and juicy acidity, everything is in place for an early drinking and food friendly wine. Ready from late 2017.

Strong wood-aging flavors give a spice and bitter chocolate character. The result, though, is that the wood softens the potentially stalky fruit and helps accent the underlying red berry flavors with attractive acidity. Drink now.

Produced by the winemaking team of Château Giscours in Margaux, this is impressive for a simple Bordeaux. It has weight, rich blackberry fruits, structure and concentration. It could even age.
