La Petite Robe Noire’s iconic rose is embroidered with tangy fruity notes. White amber paired with white musk brings softness and comfort to this delicate sillage.

Combining Bulgarian rose essence with the tender, naturally honeyed scent of a Turkish Damask rose absolute, Guerlain has allowed a new rose to bloom. The distinctive and utterly recognisable rose that is La Petite Robe Noire's signature…
Zesty, green and floral in one, this faceted citrus fruit dubbed "Calabrian green gold" is also one of Guerlain's favourite raw materials. Like a breath, sparkling bergamot reveals all the freshness of rose.

Created in 1912, the "upside-down heart" bottle has endured for more than a century to become an icon in its own right. For La Petite Robe Noire, its timeless lines are adorned in a gradation of colour from black to powder pink to evoke the notes of the perfume it contains.

Since 2007, Guerlain is committed to preserving biodiversity, innovating sustainably, acting for the climate and creating a positive social impact. Above all, we seek to protect one of Nature’s most precious wonders: bees.

La Petite Robe Noire Guerlain for women
Don't be afraid of the Intense licorice upon first spray, It soon transforms into a very sweet almondy cherry. I don't get a lot of rose. considering the Taif one, which does stand out a lot in other perfumes.
Overall, if you like Lolita :Lempicka, this will be up your alley. I love it.
sharp cherry licorice perfume that dries down to a soft, powdery cherry vanilla. tonka beans add some more sweetness and iris to me is so subtle, adding only a tad of a floral note. tea and patchouli give it a bit of a stronger feel but it isn't a strong perfume, just adds some smokiness. it starts a little cold but the drydown is almost like a sharp baby powder scent. romantic and somewhat dark but also rounded by vanilla and tonka beans, so to me it smells more soft and sweet. not a sweet perfume though, so it's not a safe blind buy if that's what you're looking for... and as far as powdery, mon guerlain smells overall better? i think? although, it doesn't have that confusing licorice or cherries to make you wonder if you love or hate it.... mon guerlain is easier to like if you want a powdery perfume with vanilla notes. mon guerlain is lavender powdery and this is like a dark cherries, licorice powdery so.. i have to wear them again, one on each wrist and make the comparison but this was a Christmas present that i hand-picked from my mama so i don't think i'm going to replace its spot on my top 5 favorites. but i might. 🤔
if you wear this on a cold day you will get a lot of compliments, such great notes, it’s sweet but at the same time the almond note makes it a lot sexier and mature. To be honest it makes me feel nauseas a little bit. If you are a person who easily get headaches, I don’t recommend la petite
smells like a cleaning product to me but in a good way. the almond note makes it creamy and sultry, but it also reminds me of almond lotion so i think it makes a nice pair with some basic almond lotion. then there comes that ‘fizzy’ note that i kinda get, sort of like cherry cola. the tea note gives a herbal all rounder to it which tones the sourness/sweetness down. overall a good 7.5/10 for me!
Very sexy. Its deep, dark and smoky. I love scents that has a smoky cigarette vibe, and this one has that. Not heavy or strong, this is perfectly blended :) I love it and it will be a new favorite for fall. I can smell rose, licorice, cherry and vanilla. The patchouli is not strong, it just makes it a little deeper. LOVE.
This perfume smells like windex on me, but smells fabulous on my mother. Can't stand it on my own skin but love it when someone else wears it. Very strange one, but has a lot of personality. Very strong sillage imo and very lasting.
Definitely there is a hint of pipe tobacco mixed with the cherry at the opening. I love this scent, it is not for all you " I love to smell like produce" girls. This is for a woman who loves to smell bold and different. An autumn winter scent.
This was an impulse buy in Paris on my part back in 2013, but I'm surprised that people have rated this perfume so poorly. I do think that calling this "the little black dress" is a bit of a misnomer - I don't think it's the perfume that works for everything and everyone, as a little black dress would. LPRN comes across as playful, flirty, and sensuous to me and it's the kind of scent that stays on your mind. The blast of sour cherry and licorice at the opening may not everyone's cup of tea but she's not here to please you, you have to keep up with her if you want to get to know her better. The syrupy tea and vanilla drydown smells absolutely delicious especially in colder weathers, so it might have worked better named as "the black fur coat". Despite living in tropical country, I absolutely love this and continue to wear them to evening events here.
I love this perfume alot when the wind blows across my face i get subtle hints of cherry or strawberry shisha.
Licorice and cherry mixed together makes a woman smell like she should be on stage or in a fancy night time restaraunt wearing a raspberry shade lipstick and heels.
It’s a nice fragrance without anything remarkable really: if you know/like any of the suggested fragrances you’ll like this one. For me though, it is lacking something … extra. I always have this with guerlain perfumes. It’s pretty timeless and ageless though and I could wear it any day any season.
dark cherry with anise, fresh tea, and licorice. not sweet. this has a prominent cherry note but i wouldn’t call this a cherry fragrance bc that misleads you on where this perfume really goes. lots going on but interesting and nice.
I really like this fragrance. I don't find it bitter or sour at all, just warm, sweet and a little vintage. I get a lot of licorice, iris and no obvious cherry. Not a blind buy, it's not your average sweet crowd pleaser. La Petite Robe Noire is a little unusual and I love it for that. (It's very similar to Black Perfecto so you probably don't need both.)
This is a strange perfume. I am a big lover of cherry perfumes but im unsure of the cherry in this perfume? I can definitely get a sour note but my god is it bitter. This is a very very VERY tart cherry almond perfume. So be warned. This is not the juicy sour cherries you'd expect. The licorice note develops but it really is overwhelmed by this bitter, powdery, fruity note. I agree with the comment below. This perfume is totally vicious.
this scent is… vicious. Definitely what Ursula or Maleficent would smell like
Not a safe blind buy. I nearly did because I'm a sucker for anything cherry, especially the perfumes. When I saw this tester in stores, well I'm glad that I didn't purchased this. I genuinely don't get a cherry note (or the bottle was expired idk) It's more of the liquorice, patchouli and rose notes that popped out more than anything in my opinion.
Didn’t find it too different from Black Perfecto EDP. BP comes off more mature than LPRN EDP. Although I’m 30 I’m not comfortable wearing BP around others yet, I only wear it at home waiting to finally have that confident moment. LPRN EDP sadly is the same way. I was expecting a bright, effervescent cherry with the “red berries” and bergamot but they were all buried underneath the dark, heavier notes. I won’t give up though, for some reason I have faith in Guerlain fragrances. Maybe I’ll try the LPRN EDT or Couture flanker. I already know I love the Intense flanker.
Fantastic. The cherry is very heavy but you still get the almond and vanilla with it. Couldn’t see myself wearing this outside of the winter season, but it’s incredibly cozy to wear. Hubby said it smelled like cough syrup, unfortunately. I quite like the scent of cherry cough syrup, so I’m indifferent.
Not really what I expected. Not attracted by it at first sniff. Very powdery. Don’t like the end of it. Not charming to me. Not at all.

It's a strong smell, that don't give me the simplicity and the chic of a black dress, but the strong apparence of a seductive person with a lot of caracter that smell too strong. I just get spices first, don't like it. The middle is all about cherry, more agreable and round. But the spice is always there. Who wants spice and cherry? Not me. Just not for me, not elegant at all in my taste.
I realized I hadn't reviewed this and it's past due. This is a lipstick perfume. Usually, I find violet in these perfumes, but I think it's the anise and iris together creating this smell. It's a ladies lipstick or powder scent behind a dark cherry scent. It reminds me so much of French Kiss by Guerlan, so if you love that one get this one instead and save your money. This is more cherry chapstick than a tart or sour cherry. It's very modern because of this and doesn't smell childlike. It's a grown up cherry fruit scent. It's quite beautiful in a coquettish demure way.

Thierry Wasser, is a perfume genius. I'm now at the point where I purchase anything I find made by him. He's that good. Half my collection of perfumes were made by him. I just know when I see his name I'm going to love it. My first encounter with one of his gems was Dior Addict. This is still my favorite perfume he has ever made. It's an absolute masterpiece. My second favorite is Armani Diamonds, which has been discontinued, but I still find bottles when I need to.

This is worth the price and I think is one to enjoy more in the fall and winter months. I love to put this in my hair. Hair holds the scent so well and it's beautiful straight out of the bottle. This is not a perfume that has to mix with your body chemistry.
I adore this fragrance although it's a bit generic. It's sexy and very yummy with the cherries (which is pretty much the only note I smell). Very disappointed that all of the flankers and the original one smell for not even an hour on me...
I love this perfume! It smells sweet and girly and I get compliments when wearing it.
On me it mostly smells like cherry and sweet berries with rose and vanilla.
The only problem is it doesn’t last very long (3 hours max). It still is one of my favourite perfume.
So I just recently quit smoking and it's helped me smell fragrances a lot better than I used to. This one never used to wear all that well; it'd fade away after three or four hours and a lot of the nuance just wasn't there. Now, however, I can really smell the Guerlainade. I never could sense it before. The tonka, cherries, anise, rose, and almond are mostly what you smell at first, and it can be a bit overpowering. After that, it's mostly that but with a similar bergamot to what you'd find it Eau de Shalimar or Shalimar Cologne. The vanilla, which was always there, becomes softer and there's a lovely powdery touch from the iris. I'm glad I decided to keep this, rather than give it away.
Blind buy based on the description of the top notes. First and last blind buy, I might add. I get cherry cough syrup at the outset, then I get a headache, then I get cherry cough syrup. I tried and tried with this b/c I really like Guerlain, and I wanted the top notes to be what they were supposed to be, but this just doesn't work with me. I have this, but I wish I didn't.
Oh no no - so much anise, for me. Not a fan.
Before the release of Mon Guerlain, La Petite Robe Noire was Guerlain's (read: LVMH's) cash cow, often being the sole Guerlain scent offered at most pharmacies and department stores (sometimes joined by a selection of its numerous flankers). I used to spritz myself with testers as a teenager. It is girly and sweet, which appealed to me then, but is not to my taste nowadays. I'm not sure it lives up to its name - a little black dress should be timeless and classic, transcending trends. Instead, this scent is girlishly gourmand. It really reminds me of Lolita Lempicka, but is (even) sweeter and less refined.

LPRN opens with a syrupy cherry note - a little bit lozenge, a little bit liqueur. The red berry notes enhance the sweet fruitiness, with a dash of anise bringing this to Lolita Lempicka territory. The almond is lovely - smooth and marzipan-like, rounding out the gourmand accord.

As it develops, sweet rose emerges which, along with the powdery iris, forms a lipstick accord. The cherry that remains gives the impression of flavoured lip products. Vanilla emerges, adding smooth sweetness. Despite being very sweet and gourmand, the vanilla note completes the Guerlinade accord along with the soft spices, iris and rose. The drydown is vanilla-sweet, with some anise and remnants of cherry. It goes a bit thin after several hours, and is not as "finished" as Lolita. Sillage is reasonably strong, and longevity is day-long.

LPRN is a nice choice for young girls, and is a reasonable alternative to the original Lolita Lempicka (albeit a boozier, more syrupy version with added almonds). The Guerlinade accord elevates it above other sugary gourmands. Not bad, but not something I'd wear, unlike the titular little black dress. 3/5.
I got a 10ml bottle on a week long trip to France .I used it both day and night so I have a pretty good idea on how it works with my skin.I can smell cherry, almond and vanilla. Its beautiful (not wow) and the smell lasts max 2 hrs .I mean I sprayed 6-8 times in the morning and repeated in the evening.Nothing left 2 hrs later.I also sprayed on my clothes hoping it would last longer.I am glad I only got the travel spray. Not worth a full bottle. And I think this will keep me from trying anything else from the petit robe range.
The only thing I smell when I sprayed this on my wrist was licorice on top of licorice on a base of licorice. I didn't get any other notes and the licorice was overwhelming. One minute in my stomach was turning so I went and washed it off. I won't be keeping this in my collection.
Dark sexy cherry with a powderness in the dry down. Better suited for night time and for ladies 30+ IMO
This perfume smells like Dr Pepper at first spray then dries down to a powdery baby wipe / powder scent . I don’t k ow if I like it or not ? Something in it reminds me a bit of Gucci guilty . I don’t know about this one . The powder is too strong .
So weird how noses change... I don't know if it's the seasons or if it's just my mood or if I smell things differently at different times... When I first blind bought this, I wasn't sure about it. But a few months later on a cool summer night, I sprayed it again because I was craving someth
